The Try Scuba Diving Experience takes approximately half a day. We meet all participants at our store so we can fit you out with proper scuba equipment and go over paperwork. Once at the dive site you will receive a brief overview explaining whats going to happen during your dive, the equipment you will be using, how to breathe underwater, appropriate underwater hand signals, some basic knowledge about scuba diving and the rules that need to be followed for your safety during the dive.
When you first get in the water, we will run through some very important water skills and get you comfortable before descending down for your dive. The dive itself will last around 30-60 minutes and you will reach a maximum depth of 5 meters. Your experienced dive instructor will show you the magic of the underwater world.

The minimum age to participate is 12 years old (a parent's or guardian's consent is required for participants under 18 years old.)
You must be able to swim.
All participants must complete a Medical Questionnaire. If any of the questions are flagged as "Yes" you may need to gain medical clearance from a doctor prior to participating.
Flying within 24 hours after diving is not recommended.

Rather odd and different to previous places. Normally when I have these strange experiences at places, it would be an excursion, "Magic School Bus" type of thing, but this time it was by myself. It started of as normal with entering this scuba diving adventure. Before I went to scuba dive, I did some swimming for fun to prepare for the activity but when I was there, there was no instructor but only me and scuba diving gear with seemingly no one else. Afterwards, I was suddenly knocked out by someone and then they quickly made me wear the scuba diving equipment and bought me to the bottom of the pool. I then woke up and realised I was trapped and had to escape. I managed to survive but the evil person was never discovered. I then went away from this place and promised myself to never come back.

I purchased a try dive voucher for my brothers 21st birthday and 2 months later they were closed and deleted their facebook and website and are refusing to pick up their phone regarding my $200 refund!

We had an excellent experience today with our first try at scuba diving. Our instructor Graham got me through my nerves with his calm and professional guidance while catering well for the whole group. We will be back :)

Having always wanted to try out scuba diving, the try scuba experience from Sydney Dive Safari seemed like a great opportunity to do so. This experience was fantastic! Unlike many other beginner scuba experiences where you are required to use the gear in a pool, SDS gives you an in-depth briefing and then takes you to the ocean so you can get a real understanding of what scuba is like. It was a beautiful and surreal experience and Steve was an amazing instructor who made sure everyone felt comfortable at all times and had the best possible time they could. I would highly recommend!

Great initial experience of diving.
Quick introduction to the equipment and made to feel safe and comfortable.
Saw a turtle, swam through schools of fish and Explored the location to see what has washed up there over the years.
No complaints.

Today we did the Try-dive in Long bay in Sydney.
Our guide Victor was great. He took us through the intro in a calm and professional way and with humour that made us feel relaxed.
The dive was perfect for our level, with an easy entry and exit on the sandy shore.
The visibility was mixed but we saw a couple of rays and other fish.
For us, the main take-away was the buzz of diving again after 30 years and feeling more confident under water.
I would highly recommend this site and SDS for anyone who wants a refresher dive or a first time try under easy and well guided conditions.

I had a great experience jumping in the water with Dylan. I found him a very passionate scuba diver and good teaching skills.
if you are non native English speaker you'll find Dylan very easy to understand.
I strongly recommend this place to take the first steps in scuba diving.

Ever first dive in Sydney and it was great! Super nice stuff, haven't dive for months but Victor demonstrates & explain all the essential knowledge clearly which help me recall everything quickly.
Definitely come back for other dive soon :)

First time diving in the sea and I couldn’t be more pleased.
Dylan was our instructor and he explained us everything, answered our questions and made us feel safe.
It’s a perfect experience to get to know whether scuba diving is something we’d like or not. We only dive 5 meters deep which makes us feel confident and all safety measures are explained and practiced before actually diving.
We also are only up to 4 in the group so that the instructor always check up on us.
Thanks Dylan for being so friendly and thanks Greg for helping me getting in the water!
Will come back soon for my certification!
