We start at Bradleys Head and do a short bushwalk to some military relics with an interesting history. At Georges Heights we will see the Gunners Barracks and sweeping views of the harbour. We then head to popular Balmoral Beach for a stroll on the boardwalk and at Manly Beach a highlight is a walk via an aquatic reserve to pretty Shelley Beach. It is time for a nutritious lunch followed by a stop at North Head to enjoy the bush setting of the Sydney Harbour National Park and some outstanding views. We will then peruse several beaches to the north of Manly and on the way home we visit the new urban renewal project, Barangaroo Reserve. The day is flexible and we can talk about a few variations on the day. This tour is for your group only, includes a nutritious lunch and you will picked up from and returned to your hotel. It includes four short walks of around 15 – 20 minutes each.
If you want to see some sensational scenery this is the day for you. Mountains, valleys, escarpments, geometric rock formations, waterfalls, ferns, rainforest and botanical gardens are all on the itinerary.
The day includes two bushwalks - one to a majestic lookout and the other through rainforest. Neither are long but if you would prefer not to bushwalk we have some very enticing alternatives.
At Mt Wilson we admire the Cathedral of Ferns and have a short look at the quirky Museum of Turkish Baths. At Du Faur Lookout we will see some extraordinary sandstone formations.
Two very different gardens are included, the Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens and Windyridge Gardens. Both are high quality.
The panorama of Govetts Leap lookout, Evans Lookout and Echo Point are mandatory when we head South of the Grose River. By the end of the day you will be saying that your eyes are exhausted from beautiful scenery. At this point we head home.
