The city of Reno only consumes a very small area of land, 103 square kilometres to be precise, and is located in the US State of Nevada. The city is very much a gamblers paradise, known for its plethora of casinos it is often referred to as The Biggest Little City in the World. Outside of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, Reno is the most populated city in Nevada.

It sits at foothills of Sierra Nevada mountain range, and is services by the Reno Tahoe airport. The current population of the city is just a smidge over 231,000 people. The city is also the home to The University of Nevada, Reno. All of the city's drinking water is supplied by the Truckee River. There are a large number of wetlands around the Reno and Tahoe area, that play a very important part in the city's ecosystem. The wetlands serve as a natural filter for the solids that are emitted by the various water treatment plants. The plant roots then absorb a range of nutrients from the water.

Reno is also a winter wonderland with a wide range of snow activities such as skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating and snowmobiling. There are a total of eight different major ski resorts in the area.

There are a number of attractions that Reno offers such as the National Automobile Museum, the National Bowling Stadium, Circus Circus Reno, Artown, the Pioneer Centre for the Performing Arts, the Sierra Safari Zoo, Idlewild Park, the Washoe County Courthouse, Peavine Peak and the Saint Thomas Aquinas Cathedral.

Reno has a total of eight sister cities which are Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories of Canada, Hatzor in Israel, Donostia San Sebastian in Spain, Udonthani in Thailand, Taichung in Taiwan, Shenzhen and the Nanhai District in China, and Nalchik in Russia.
