We didn't want to do the 4-day Inca trail hike due to time and other limits. And the 1-day option takes too long in a day for us. So we went with the 2-day arrangement, which allows a good amount of resting time each day. Although this tour's description says the start time in Cusco is 9, we were told the night before that we would be picked up at 4:10 am. The hotel in Aguas Calientes could be better. Other than those, the tour was good. The hike on the first day was relatively easy for regular hikers. The visit to Winay Wauna was every bit worth the hike. We were lucky to be assigned Eddy as our tour guide. Eddy was very knowledgable about the Inca history in general, and the part of the Inca trail we hiked and Machu Picchu in particular. His English is the best among the 5 tour guides we had in Peru. His description of how Machu Picchu was discovered, excavated, and preserved was very vivid and memorable. He was accomadative to our preferences. If there is an option to ask for a specific guide on this tour, we would highly recommend Eddy.

The good moments are to show with people! We booked short Inka trail to Machu Picchu with a local company; where the service was detailed very well organised. The guide was very knowledgeable, fantastic views, many inca sites and the box lunch of quinoa was delicious. We want highly recommend to book 2 day inca trail with Lares trip because the company is locally owned and direct operator.
