Detailed Itinerary
Inca Trail Tour 1 Day: Cusco - Km 104 - Machu Picchu – Cusco.
Our staff will stop by your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 a.m. to transfer you by bus to the Ollantaytambo train station. Take the Expedition train that leaves at 6:10 a.m. Then you will travel for 1 hour and 15 minutes to Km 104 of the railway, from where the 7-hour walk to Machu Picchu will begin with short stops at the archaeological sites of Chachabamba, Wiñayhuayna and Sun Gate.
Upon arrival in Machu Picchu, along with your professional guide, explore the lost city for 3 hours. In the end, take the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes and board the Expedition train that leaves at 8:50 p.m. to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting to accompany you to your hotel in Cusco.

We were originally booked to complete the 5 day Inca trail, however due to extremely bad altitude sickness we asked AB Expeditions if they could come up with options that would allow us to complete a short hike and still arrive and visit Machu Picchu. We were very impressed with AB,s ability to come up with a new program that fulfilled our wishes.
Our guide Geo, was fantastic and his knowledge of the trail, its history, wildlife and fauna was outstanding.
Unfortunately whilst we were there the local population and tour operators were taking industrial actions which shut down the rail link into and out of Aquas Calientes, and they also stopped the buses from taking tourists up to Machu Picchu which meant that a large number of tourists were stranded. AB expeditions were great at coming up with an alternate plan to get all AB expeditions' clients out of Aquas Calientes and back to Cusco.
Overall we were very impressed with AB Expeditions as a company and all of their staff were top rate.
We would recommend using AB Expeditions for your trekking needs.

We did the one day trek to Machu Picchu from km 104 on the railway up to the Sun gate and then down into Machu Picchu. It’s a great way to experience part of the Inka trail without having to camp. The trail up from the railway is quite arduous but has a couple of Inka ruins on the way. We arrived at the Sun gate around 1.30pm then into Machu Picchu by 2pm. We then spent a couple of hours visiting the ruins before taking the bus down to Aguas Caliente. Our guide was Jose Antonio who was fantastic and provided useful information all the way through the trek and tour. If we did the trek again we would book an earlier train back to our hotel rather than have dinner in Aquas Caliente which is a bit of a tourist trap. Otherwise it was a perfect day which combines a fantastic trek with a visit to Machu Picchu- which absolutely deserves its reputation.

We did the two days Inca trail with Machu Picchu Andes Tour. Lylia answered our emails right away, answering all our doubts. Our guide Nelson was amazing, his explanations were really good and he helped us during the entire trip. I would recommend a tour with them!

Reservamos 6 tours con esta empresa con 4 meses de anticipación. Lylia desde el minuto uno estuvo siempre bien predispuesta a responder y resolver todas mis dudas, con amabilidad y profesionalismo.
Todos los tours fueron increíbles, el camino del Inca es im-pre-sio-nan-te. También hicimos Valle sur, Valle Sagrado, Laguna Humantay, Moñtaña arco iris y Maras-Moray. En todas la pasamos de maravilla, el chofer, guía y comidas fueron excelentes.
Los recomendamos ampliamente, nuestra estadia en Cusco fue maravillosa!

Desde el primer momento se comportaron con la máxima prioridad hacia el cliente, la atención fue sobresaliente aclarando todas nuestras dudas, los guías con basto conocimiento sobre todo el trayecto e información de la zona y siempre predispuestos a ayudarnos sin apurarnos y alentandonos a realizar todo a nuestro propio ritmo. Recomendable al 120%!

Machu Picchu de por sí es precioso, pero sin duda la excelente organización de MACHUPICCHU ANDES TOURS hizo que fuese un día excepcional. Lylia siempre estuvo muy atenta, tanto por mail como por whatsapp, siempre ha estado disponible para resolver nuestras dudas y ayudarnos con el viaje, y Nelson ha sido un guía increíble, con su gran experiencia y pasión nos alegró el día! Para nosostros fue genial poder realizar el Camino Inca en un solo día por el poco tiempo que llevábamos y lo recomendamos 100%!

Hacer el Camino del Inca y visitar Machu Picchu ya es de por sí una experiencia fantástica, pero si a eso se suma la excelente organización y servicio que nos brindaron Lylia con toda la información previa al viaje, y especialmente nuestro guía Nelson, se tiene por resultado uno de esos viajes que siempre se recordarán. La información previa al viaje fue muy precisa y rápida, ya que Lylia estuvo siempre disponible para resolver todas mis preguntas. Todo salió y se cumplió tal como estaba informado. Nuestro guía Nelson sabe muchísimo y se nota que ama su trabajo, y eso hace una diferencia importante. Gracias por todo.
