Day 1: Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Km 104 - Aguas Calientes Pueblo
Stop At: Inca Trail, Cusco 08000 Peru
We start very early in the morning by bus from your hotel to Ollantaytambo, then we take the train at 07:45 am from Ollanta to Km-104, where you start hiking. We visit amazing Inca sites, see a variety of flora, fauna and get to see fantastic views. Covering 16 km of the trail, our journey starts off in the Sacred Valley and works its way up along an original Inca trail to the Inca site of Wiñay Wayna and the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), the first viewpoint of Machu Picchu ruins. Along the way we'll hike through the lush greenery of the cloud forest which is covering the mountain and variety of birds.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes Pueblo - Machu Picchu - Cusco
Stop At: Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu Peru
Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco
We will pick you up early in the morning from your Hotel to take one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu, so that we can see the sunrise. Once we get to the Citadel you'll have a 2 hour guided tour with your private English speaking guide. After the walking tour, you will have a lot of time to explore, take pictures and enjoy Machu Picchu by yourself. Those who have Huayna Picchu tickets will have time to climb the mountain, which takes approximately 2 hours round-trip. When done exploring, you will take a bus or walk down to Machu Picchu Pueblo for lunch (not included). Finally in the afternoon you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo from where you will carry on by bus back to Cusco.

It was an amazing experience. The whole service was excellent and especially my tour guide Jorge, who explained everything in very good english and was very helpfull and willing to make my experience pleasant and memorable. I highly recommend this trail to anyone who enjoys hikes, it is worth it. For once more, muchas gracias Jorge!

We booked the 2-Day Short Inca trail - Machu Picchu. As it wasn't high season yet, we were the only two people booked into the tour and so we ended up on a private tour which was awesome!
Our tour guide was Jorge who was such a legend! He taught us so much about the history and was always up for a chat along the way. Hiking in the high altitude was pretty hard and he always knew when we needed a break to catch our breath. He also made sure we got so many photo opportunities.
The hike was tough at times but it was so rewarding to see that view at the top of of Sungate at the end of the day. It was great to be able to have a rest in the the town and come back the following day to for a tour through the citadel.
Highly recommend Happy Gringos!!

I recently took a 2-day Inca Trail tour to Machu Picchu, and it was an outstanding experience tailored just for me.
Transport and accommodation were well-organized, making the trip hassle-free. The standout, however, was my guide, Ruben. As a native with deep Inca heritage knowledge, he provided insightful information about the trail and its history. His passion and expertise made the journey educational and unforgettable.
I highly recommend this tour, especially with Ruben as your guide. It's worth every penny for a personalized Inca Trail adventure.

An awe inspiring 2 day trek on the Short Inca Trail with Happy Gringo Tours! Our guides were deeply knowledgable, sharing intriguing stories behind the ancient ruins and Incan civilization. My partner and I took the 2-day Inca Trail tour, and it was nothing short of magical. Every twist and turn held thing to remember for life with each step.
When we booked the tour, we were worried that the walk might be too heavy or tiring because of the altitude, but the Happy Gringo team made the entire journey enjoyable and easy.
