Itinerary

Day 1: Wild West Coast

Stop At: Sombrio Beach, West Coast Road, Port Renfrew, British Columbia Canada
Sombrio is an amazing, unique, rocky beach with awesome hidden features.
We will walk on the rocks to a hidden canyon leading to a waterfall and then walk through a sea caves to come out to an amazing viewpoint on the ocean.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Botanical Beach Provincial Park, Juan de Fuca Trail, Port Renfrew, British Columbia Canada
Visiting Botanical Beach or Big Wave Beach is like a visit to the aquarium but much more spectacular.
We will hike the loop from the sandstone wave, passing by and admiring the crystal clear tide pools, teaming with marine wildlife. We will see mussels, barnacles, chitons, urchins, anemones, crabs and so many more colorful creatures. We even see Gray WHALES from shore sometimes!
Then back on the trail, wander through wind battered uniquely twisted trees back to the car for our next adventure.

Stop At: Avatar Grove, British Columbia Canada
Have you step through the Old Growth Rainforest?

This grove of impressively large Western Cedars, towering above 90m, older than 1000 years old and wider than 4m is sure to leave a lasting impression.

The forest we will be visiting on this trip is truly unique and an endangered ecosystem. Your guide will be able to tell you all about the native ecosystem of this Coastal Temperate Rainforest and will also make sure you get an awesome photo with the Gnarliest Tree in Canada!
Duration: 1 hour

Accommodation included: Overnight camping in yurt style tent!

Day 2: East Coast Wandering

Stop At: Ammonite Falls, Jameson Road, Nanaimo, British Columbia Canada
This stunning waterfall is raging in spring and fall but in the summer, the stream dries up enough to reveal the bottom of the creek, it's sandstone pools and fossil covered bed.

This hike through managed forest and swampy areas is strikingly different from the old growth we would have seen in Port Renfrew and your guide will give you some awesome facts about Forestry in BC along the way!

This hike has a few uphills and sets of stairs but nothing too exhausting or technical.

Stop At: Cathedral Grove, BC-4, Alberni Hwy MacMillan Provincial Park, Port Alberni, British Columbia Canada
One last visit to the Old Growth for this trip.

This time we will be entering a magical grove of giant and ancient Douglas-Firs. A completely different environment but stunning and awe inspiring none the less.

Fun Fact: This location was used for the set of the planet Endor in Star Wars; Return of the Jedi.

Stop At: Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park, 3905 Horne Lake Caves Rd, Qualicum Beach, British Columbia V9K 2L7 Canada
Enter the amazing underground world of Horne Lake Caves.

This guided tour is such an amazing experience where you will face as much challenge as you would like to experience and a world of wonder that will make you feel like you are on a different planet.

The calcite formation inside the caves are truly breath taking and will surely leave an impression.
