Day 1: Travel to sout with stops: Khor Virap, Areni Winery, Areni-1 cave, Noravank, Jermuk, Shaki waterfall, Zorats karer

Stop At: Khor Virap, Highway 11 Near the village of Pokr Vedi, Lusarat 0612 Armenia
The Khor Virap monastery is located less than an hour drive from Yerevan, with a spectacular view to mount Ararat, the oldest and most well-known mountain in Armenia Highland. “Khor Virap” translates as “deep dungeon” or "deep pit", and was a former prison and fortress, located near to historical town of Artashat. By legend, Gregory the Illuminator, the first Armenian Catholicos, was jailed her for 14 years, so this place is one of the sacred spots for Armenians and Christian Pilgrims from around the world.

Stop At: Areni Wine Factory, Areni Armenia
Areni village, also known as village of wine is located on the bank of river Arpa. Wine traditions here are having more than six thousand years history. Wine testing, wine and oghi (homemade fruit vodka) selling points are available on each corner. All kinds of wine are largely available for testing and locals are joking, that they use wine as water. You will have a wine testing at one of the oldest wine factories in Areni.

Stop At: T'rchuneri (Bird) Cave, Highway At the Entrance To Noravank Canyon, Areni 3604 Armenia
The Areni-1 or Birds' Çave complex a multicomponent site and late Chalcolithic/Early Bronze Age ritual site and settlement is located near the Areni village in southern Armenia along the Arpa River. In 2010, it was announced that the earliest known shoe was found at the site.In January 2011, the earliest known winery in the world was announced to have been found. Also in 2011, the discovery of a straw skirt dating to 3,900 years BCE was reported. In 2009, the oldest brain was discovered

Stop At: Noravank Monastery, NoravankMonastery Road Amaghu Valley, Areni 3604 Armenia
Noravank, literally "new monastery") is a 13th-century Armenian monastery, located 122 km from Yerevan in a narrow gorge made by the Amaghu River, near the town of Yeghegnadzor, Armenia. The gorge is known for its tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs, directly across from the monastery. The monastery is best known for its two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) church, which grants access to the second floor by way of a narrow stone-made staircase jutting out from the face of building.

Stop At: Jermuk Waterfall, Jermuk Armenia
Jermuk is a mountain spa town and the centre of the urban community of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor Province at the south of Armenia, at a road distance of 53 km east of the provincial capital Yeghegnadzor. It was considered one of the popular destinations for medical tourism in the Soviet Union. The waterfall of Jermuk on Arpa river has a height of 70 meters.

Stop At: Shaki Waterfall, Sisian Armenia
Shaki Waterfall is a waterfall in Armenia, with a height of 18 m. It is located in Syunik Province.

The Shaki Waterfall is situated 6 km from the town of Sisian. On the left side of the river Vorotan's gorge, basalt lava flows have solidified to form a ledge 18 meters high from which the waterfall cascades down. This is one of most spectacular waterfalls in Armenia.

Stop At: Karahundj (Armenia's Stonehenge), Sisian Armenia
Among many unsolved mysteries surrounding remarkable prehistoric structures of Armenia, there is a megalithic site of Karahunge ("Karahundj") covered with hundreds of vertical 1 - 2.8 m high megaliths of greatly varying form.

Day 2: Travel back to Yerevan with stops: Khndzoresk Swinging bridge, Khndzoresk cave sattlment, Tatev ropway and monastery.

Stop At: Khndzoresk Swinging Bridge, M12 Hwy., 3207 Armenia
The bridge was inspired by a local entrepreneur's passion to showcase a truly unique Armenian village. His goal was to preserve the village's past, and, for future generations to discover their roots. The suspension bridge is a work of love by the people of the village. It was built by the villagers with their own hands, and horses, without modern machinery. It spans 160 meters across the most rugged, yet scenic gorge one could imagine. It's worth stopping along the way to catch your breath and take amazing pictures of the cliffside dwellings.

Stop At: Old Khndzoresk, Khndzoresk, Near Goris Armenia
The historic cave village, located on the steep slope of a gorge, is comprised of both natural and manmade caves. At the inhabiting community’s height, some estimates suggest that population grew to as many as 15,000 people. Since many of the dwellings were carved out over and around each other, a complex system of ropes and ladders were required for people to reach many corners of the community. The village even had two churches and three schools.

Stop At: Wings of Tatev, H45, Halidzor 3218 Armenia
Wings of Tatev is a 5.7 km (3.5 mi) cableway between Halidzor and the Tatev monastery in Armenia. It is the longest reversible aerial tramway built in only one section, and holds the record for Longest non-stop double track cable car.Construction was finished on 16 October 2010.

Stop At: Tatev Monastery, Highway 45, Tatev 3218 Armenia
The Tatev Monastery is a 9th-century Armenian Apostolic monastery located on a large basalt plateau near the Tatev village in Syunik Province in southeastern Armenia. The term "Tatev" usually refers to the monastery. The monastic ensemble stands on the edge of a deep gorge of the Vorotan River. Tatev is known as the bishopric seat of Syunik and played a significant role in the history of the region as a center of economic, political, spiritual and cultural activity.

Arman was a great host/driver/tour guide. We enjoyed all parts of the trip and were excited to discover Armenia as we went. The package included a great mix of sites, they were all hits. Would love to see the rest of the country the same way.

I went on this adventure recently in last week of December and ohh man it was amazing! Special thanks to our driver Arman who took us everywhere became our friend and guide and safely drove us around the country. He is a star and very humble human being! Looking forward to meet him again on another adventure!

Tigran, Arman and the others are so nice, friendly and Good drivers and tour coordinators. Also arranged airport transfer though Flyone Armenia was delayed 6 and 5 hours.

It was my first experience of travel with gira travel. i enjoyed my stay in Armenia very much. They offered me almost every kind of travelling related facilities under my budget. I enjoyed ski and snow tour, eco tour, night life, food tours etc. I will personally recommend to travel with gira travel in Armenia. Thanks gira travel to make my trip memorable for long time.

Es war eine sehr schöne Tour, wir haben viel über Land, Leute und Geschichte erfahren. Der Guide war ein sehr guter Fahrer und hat uns gut und umfassend informiert und ist auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen.

.nous avions pris contact avant le depart et nous avons organisé ensuite au fur et a mesure. Nous avons fait 4 visites, en suivant les parcours prévus ou en demandant un parcours personnalisé. Nous avons toujours eu des réponses très rapides et tout s est très bien passé. Le contact par mail est très efficace.. Nous avons voyage le plus souvent avec Armen, très bon chauffeur, très bon guide qui a su nous laisser visiter à notre rythme, tres sympatique, et qui parle anglais, Merci Armen

Die Landschaft in Südarmenien ist ganz anders als im Norden. Es gibt Kloster in atemberaubender Kulisse zu sehen, Wasserfälle, Steinskulpturen, eine Höhlenstadt mit Hängebrücke und eine schmackhafte Weinverkostung. Der Preis ist nicht gering für die Tour, aber man hat einen privaten Fahrer für zwei Tage, sehr viele Programmpunkte und eine Übernachtung bei sehr netten Leuten.
