Khao Lak elephant sanctuary is the place to go to spend real time with elephants in Khao Lak. Tony our guide is so passionate about the 3 rescued elephant’s in the sanctuary and made sure we knew all about them. We fed them bananas and made some food for them which we fed them before going for a walk with them in the jungle which was amazing, calling their names and them responding to your call ,we fed them again with sugar cane which they loved and I had missed one from my bag and she knew it was still in there!! We then hosed them whilst they made themselves dirty! We then watched them in the water and washed them off by throwing water over them before walking them back. Truly an amazing 2 hours.

We loved our 2 hour tour at the elephant sanctuary. Picked up on time and it was short drive to the sanctuary where we were given water and a good briefing. We started off feeding the elephants, then walked with them in the forest. At All times our safety and the welfare of the elephants was a priority. The highlight was washing the elephants and seeing them taking a mud bath. The group was small and our guide was great. We Definitely recommend the tour. I would suggest wearing trousers and covered shoes for walking in the forest.

Fantastic morning out, so breathtaking to get up close to the elephants in their natural habitat. Our guide was so funny and made every second really enjoyable. It’s so lovely to see these amazing animals cared so well for here. It’s worth every penny to support these animals in having the life they deserve.

An amazing experience! Picked up early from my hotel. Arrived and was given refreshments and waited for the other people to arrive. Place is spotlessly clean. Lovely spacious bathrooms and shower area too if needed. Our guide was very informative and funny. We were brought to prepare the elephants food and told about their diet etc. We then all had an opportunity to feed the elephants. There are only 4 elephants (I think) at this sanctuary. Then we walked through the forest With them and watched them find their own food. We also were given a bag of bananas and sugar cane to feed them. Then we walked over to an area where we got to shower them. We didn’t get in to the water. It was just a hose down. They then went to bath in water. We watched these best friends help each other up from the water with their trunks. Just magical. They then went to cover themselves in dust and off they went back to chill out for a few hours. It wasn’t quite 2 hours but it was enough. It was evident to see a genuine love and respect for these beautiful animals by all staff. Our transport was delayed when it was time to leave so our tour guide dropped us back to our hotel. That’s customer care in a nutshell Really really worth a visit and support this worthy sanctuary

Very beautiful sanctuary, they definitely care a lot about the elephants and it’s all about them! Our guide was lovely and she had lots of knowledge about the elephants and made us laugh while giving lots of facts! It was an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend spending the money that goes towards rescuing the lovely animals. Only 4 stars because it wasn’t quite 2 hours, but again maybe the elephants had had enough which is fine, I like how they are not forced into anything and it is definitely ethical and lovely.
