We took a five hour hike and float tour of the Chilkoot Trail and Taiya River with Chilkat. Our guide, Shailyn, was amazing! She was so knowledgeable, encouraging, and excited to be taking us on this adventure. She made suggestions about how we could best spend our time and explained different things we may see. We saw three seals during the rafting portion of the tour—very cool! She explained the history of the area and kept everyone safe and informed throughout the tour. Very professional, friendly, and dependable your company!

Nick from Texas was our guide today and did a great job as our hike and river guide. He was knowledgeable about the area and history and had an upbeat attitude that made the trip enjoyable.
Due to ever changing river conditions, we ended up getting stuck towards the end of the raft float as a tree had blocked the route we went down - it was clear the day before and we were the first raft down river for the today and so there was no way to know about the blockage until it was too late (which happens, no big deal)
Nick was calm and communicated what was going on the entire time. We were “rescued” by a combination of Chilkat Guides and Skagway Float Tours. Both team acted in concert to get us transferred to a new raft safely and efficiently. At no time did we feel that anyone in our group was in danger. We all agree that this was the best excursion we’ve been on all week!

Don't waste your money. It's not a 2.5 hour trip on the water. We were only on the water less than an hour for a total of 3 miles. It takes no time at all to go three miles in a raft. Very disappointed and all four of us really thought it was not worth the money. Very deceiving. We took another raft trip and went 11 miles and we were on the water for 3+ hours. Again, don't waste your money.
