Day 1: Romas in the desert
Stop At: Amphitheatre of El Jem, El-Jem Tunisia
UNESCO listed, the best preserved Roman amphitheater in the Africa. Our guide will explain you facts and details about the important historical place.
Duration: 1 hour
Pass By: Matmata, Matmata, Gabes Governorate
We will pay a visit at one of the underground cave houses. Enjoy the amazing moon landscape at the viewpoint and visit Sidi Driss “Star Wars” location. You will enjoy lunch consisted of traditional Tunisian dishes like brick, and couscous.
Pass By: Tamezret, Tamezret, Gabes Governorate
Deserted Berber village
Pass By: Ksar Ghilane, Ksar Ghilane, Kebili Governorate
Oasis located 100 km in side the Sahara desert famous for its reddish sand and pond where you can relax.
Optional (extra paid) quad (ATV) riding on the desert to visit the ruins of the ancient Roman fortress. Night in the tent.

Day 2: Berbers and Nomads
Stop At: Ksar Hadada, Ksar Hadada, Kebili Governorate
A kind of Berber fortified granary - very photogenic another “Star Wars” location
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Chenini, Chenini, Tataouine Governorate
The ancient Berbers’ village. We will have an easy walk to see ancient houses an relax wit a cup of coffee on the top of the mountain overlooking the village.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Medenine Governorate, Medenine Governorate
Ruins of the the ancient grainery .
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Escale de Toujane, 1 Toujane, Route de Matmata, Km Toujane, Matmata 6070 Tunisia
A view point and a caffé break at the ancient Berber Village.

Lunch in an Underground hotel "Sidi driss" known from the "Star Wars" saga. After that point we come back to your hotel.

I’ve wanted to do this kind of tour for years but had a fear of it being a shambles. The Tunisians certainly know how to arrange a tour, great coaches, amazing tour guides (Manny) and sights and experiences that you would pay a small fortune for in another country.
It all started with a 6am pick up from our hotel and then a 2 hour coach journey before the stop in El Jem for the Colosseum. It’s amazing here and lots to see but not a lot to do. Be prepared for everyone asking you to buy things but a polite no is enough. Buy a drink from the last shop outside before getting back on the coach as it’s the cheapest. Another 2 hour journey before the next stop at the Troglodyte villages and traditional lunch and a visit to a 500yr old cave home. After this we made our way to Douz where the hotel is and where you get a choice of the quad bikes or camel rides or both!! I’ve always wanted to go in a quad on the Sahara desert and it’s brilliant fun, men will appear on mopeds with desert foxes for you to have pictures with so take money if you want to do this as it’s not for free. Same with the baby camel before the Troglodyte village. The only let down was the hotel overnight. It’s very basic and the food is terrible but the beer is good and the swimming pool is lovely. Bedrooms very basic but comfy.
Day 2 was a 5AM!! Wake up and a chase to see the sunrise in the middle of the desert. Amazing. Once in a lifetime feeling and experience. Then onto Tozeur for the 4x4 drive deeper into the desert OVER the dunes to the Star Wars set. This was again a bit of a let down and basically a market. More camel pictures here and some odd trinkets to buy. Back in the 4x4’s and a race at 70mph over the sand to the Oasis tour via horse and cart. The horses here are slender beasts and they work hard. The oasis tour is very random but fun and you get to try fresh dates of course with the option to buy. Everyone had a price on these tours and it’s best to tip them if you can as it’s a very cheap tour. After this we were back on the coach for 3 hours (with toilet and drink break) to Kairouan for the largest Mosque in Tunisia and a rug shop next door. This is the obligatory shopping part and was a bit of a let down but plenty to buy and fixed prices so no bartering allowed. Last part of the journey was 2 hours back to our hotel and just in time for dinner. The driver and guide were brilliant. And all of this for £108 per Adult and 1250km covered almost reaching Algeria!! And everything included except drinks.
Take cash and get cash when you can. Get snack if the hotel food isn’t great from the cafes you stop at but crisps are not crisps so if you see a market the day before you go then stock up. Take a big suitcase as it goes in the hold of the bus. Take lots of clothes if you want and maybe cards for the coach as there is a lot of travelling. You get time to sleep and rest and most coaches have usb charging onboard.

It was really great! The tour guide & driver were so kind. Be prepared for many hours of driving! But it was definitely worth the drive. Thank you so much for having us!

Beautiful excursion and experience. We paid £100 pp includes 2 x lunch, 1 x dinner and 1 x bed and breakfast. Also includes 4 x 4 ride. We paid extra for camel ride and horse and carriage ride but wasn't much. It was a very interesting excursion but very tiring. We travelled North of Tunisia Matmata, Berbers village, star wars, salt lakes, travelled 150km away from Algeria, Kairouan City, Camel ride in desert, 4 x 4 ride and much more. Second day we set off at 4.30 am in the morning. This excursion was last minute booked with MrAmor WhatsApp 216 98 358 097. We stayed at Yasmine Hammemet

Everything was outstanding over the 2 days and I highly recommend this trip. Colosseum, camel ride, quad bikes, horse and carriage, visit to Star Wars movie set, visit to Oasis, 4x4 safari jeeps. See the sunrise and sunset in the desert among the many stops during the trip.

Wir haben die 2-tägige Südtunesientour gebucht und war total zufrieden. Der Fahrer war top. Das Auto (Geländewagen) war modern und hatte alle Annehmlichkeiten die man braucht.
Besonders war der Besuch von Ksar Ghilane, Chenini und Ksar Hadada, da dort der Massentourismus noch nicht groß ist. An den Orten waren wir zum Teil alleine.
Die übernachtung im Zelt in Ksar Ghilane sollte man mal gemacht haben.
Das Essen über die 2 Tage war gut und man wurde satt.
Ich würde alle empfehlen diesen Ausflug zu machen.

Nous avons vraiment adoré l'expérience. Le guide et le chauffeur étaient agréables, parlaient très bien français et nous ont fait voir vraiment de belles choses. Quelques-unes n'étaient même pas prévues à l'horaire! Une équipe professionnel, exceptionnelle et des activités en or. Je recomande cette agence de voyage à 100%.

Ik heb met met twee puberkinderen de driedaagse safari gedaan in de herfstvakantie 2019 en we hebben een fantastische tijd gehad. De gids was fantastisch in het regelen van alles en de chauffeur reed veilig. We hebben ontzettend veel moois en bijzonders gezien. Een reis naar Tunesië is niet compleet zonder een safari naar het zuiden en deze is volgens mij de beste.

3 jours bien remplis, avec la traversée de paysages grandioses, la visite de sites exceptionnels, des activités originales et des surprises! Nous étions 2 touristes dans le 4X4, un anglais et moi, québécoise, en plus du chauffeur et du guide. Ce dernier parlait 5 langues et pratiquait le métier depuis plus de 20 ans. Il adorait son métier et l'histoire; il connaissait plein de choses sur les régions que nous avons traversées. Prévoir une tuque pour la nuit sous la tente dans le désert.
