Kerala was without a doubt a highlight of our India tour. Such a beautiful location with some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Having never been to India before we decided that using an organised tour through Sanguine would be a great way to pack everything in. The tour was fabulous. The communications and organisation from Sanguine was first class both pre arrival and throughout the tour. Jaison our driver and guide throughout the 4 days was fabulous, nothing was too much and he took every effort to ensure we had a great time. He stopped at beautiful locations, was only too happy to take pictures of us so we could bank our memories. He really made a great tour amazing. There were so many highlights. The tea plantations are truly amazing, and the work taken to pick them is mind blowing..... I'll never look at a teabag in the same way again! Watching the sunrise on a jeep tour was beautiful to see. Going to the national park is a really nice experience and chance to stretch the legs, the magical Nilgiri mountain goats are plentiful and super cute. A special mention must also go to the houseboat team. We were slightly nervous about this part, about the cleanliness and what sleeping on a boat would be like in India. It was fabulous, the crew were amazing and the boat was super clean and probably one of the best nights sleep we had in our trip! Honestly, looking back now at photo's from the tour brings back memories that will last a lifetime! A fabulous tour and one we would thoroughly recommend. Thank you to the Sanguine team, and a particular thank you to our friend Jaison!

The House Boat is not fancy, but is delightful. The disappointing thing is that a large group of boats left at the same time from Alleppey. As we headed down the river to the lake the pollution from all the boats was heavy. Quite a traffic jam. When we reached Lake Vembanad it was only a short cruise until we proceeded with a large crowd of boats (pollution again) to dock by a village in the backwaters. BUT the village was the regular docking location of all these boats - not a real opportunity to visit and see a village. I felt the people were very tired of seeing the tourists.

Driving through India seeing areas we’d not seen before was a privilege & stunning. The Rivulet resort & houseboat were absolutely amazing, the services of staff @ both were second to none. Our driver Nashid was fairly knowledgeable and he ensured we had a great time. He even found a Toddy shop for us to try. I would say that we did not visit several places on the itinerary which are listed in the description. A couple on the 1st day - for unknown reason, on the 2nd day - the National Park - this was closed and no alternative was offered. I did suggest to the driver that we’d go to the Tea Museum & not pay to go in as the admission for the park (which was closed) was already included in the what we’d paid Viator but we still ended up paying the entrance fee. On the whole, the trip was good, Nashid was a safe driver, cared about our experience & was friendly. Viator need to review their descriptions as this is not the first time this holiday that what I have booked with Viator, has been varied & I’ve had to complain. I also had a similar experience with them in 2023 regarding a hotel.

Right from initial contact the tour manager Nimisha was informative and helpful. We were able to be picked up from an alternative address in Cochin which was very useful. Driving to Munnar we stopped on route as and when we chose and the driver offered places to see. The hotels we stayed in were fabulous (Rivulets resort and Abad Green forest). Eravikulum National park was lovely. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary boat trip was ok, but we asked to walk from the entrance instead of being taken on the bus.... definitely a good choice! The houseboat at Alleppey was amazing with helpful driver and chef. Our last day in Cochin was quite good with some nice markets. Throughout the 5 days, our driver, Rins, was helpful and offered places to see. He was always on time in the morning and very patient when we wanted to stop somewhere. His English was limited so we were unable to gain insights into the places we past but he was an excellent driver weaving in and out of the mad Indian traffic. The car was also a lovely place to cool down (air con) after being out in the heat. In our experience we would definitely recommend Sanguine Holidays and this Kerala tour!

My Mum and I had an absolutely amazing time on this tour. It was extremely organised and we had frequent contact from the tour co-ordinator, our driver Mr Thambi was fantastic & we absolutely loved our accommodation. Munnar is absolutely beautiful. We chose to do some extra activities there including the kathakali (dance) show, kalaripayattu (martial arts) show, ayurveda massage and a jeep safari which were all great. The houseboat stay was also incredible. The backwaters and stunning and we were served such amazing local food! We absolutely loved the tour and would definitely recommend it.

I had an absolutely amazing time in Kerala thanks to the great planning and support from Sanguine Holidays. Nimisha did a fantastic job keeping me updated about the plans and was super responsive whenever I had questions. She even managed to help me upgrade my houseboat from deluxe to premium, and also coordinated payment with the hotel so that I could pay by credit card without having to pay a higher credit card service fee via their online portal! Super kind of them! The Leaf Resort in Munnar and Blue Green Houseboats in Alleppy were also excellent. The resort was located in a lush green area and had great amenities (including a nice pool!) The houseboat was also fantastic and was a very fun and unique experience (both the driver and the chef were really kind and helpful!) Sightseeing went smoothly as well and I was able to take a good number of photos, see some cool places, and visit some good shops. Thank you to the driver, Navas, for being available and on-time to take me places and being a kind, welcoming prescence during my time in Kerala! One small room for improvement - unfortunately, my driver did not speak very good English (at least it was better than my Malayalam, which is nonexistent!) but it made some communication difficult, especially when it came to pickup and drop off and planning out the last day in Kochi. I think if I had asked Nimisha and team to really focus on getting an English speaking driver, they totally would have found someone! Just something readers who plan on moving forward with Sanguine Holidays may want to think about and ask Nimisha about!!! In any case, I think Sanguine Holidays should be your number 1 tour operator choice in Kerala. I certainly will use them if I come back to Kerala in the future!
