This is an excellent tour to take to see 5 beautiful Italian Lakes and the historic towns in the region in just 4 days. I was in a small group of seven and was pleased to have upgraded to ‘Luxury’ for the better hotels. My only criticism was the ambivalence of the driver/guide. His driving was steady and we kept to schedule but he made no effort to introduce himself, he showed no interest in us as his clients, gave us no information about our daily itinerary or any explanation about the places we visited.. In contrast, we had a wonderful local guide in Verona.

This tour greatly exceeded our expectations! We visited four or five beautiful lakes and their charming coastal towns, complete with numerous boat rides. The logistics were well-coordinated. For instance, when our small group of 9 tourists arrived at the dock, our boat captain was already there and greeted us warmly. We had plenty of time to enjoy recommended restaurants (all delicious), visit historical sites complete with mini-tours, shop, and walk around each town we visited. The lakes are absolutely spectacular with turquoise clear water.
Luigi was our tour guide for this bilingual (Spanish and English) tour. He was terrific and we toasted him at a Prosecco gathering one of the days. We were driven from Milan and from lake to lake in a comfortable private coach. At the end we made a surprise visit to Verona! A city with a 30 AD built Roman amphitheater intact and still used for performances. Our hotel there was well-situated, only a five minute walk from the amphitheater. I only wish we had gotten last minute tickets for that night’s performance.
A wonderful tour in every respect!! Five stars is not enough - 10 would be more appropriate.

Lakes views were not good because there were lot of rains. Most of our trips are cloudy. We received program written in English at the end of the trip.
The first and second day we did not know what we will see and where we will go..? Top bad..

The scenery was sensational. The bus and the hotel facilities were quite nice. I liked that we were in the middle of the cities we visited and that we had our lunches and dinners free. The downside was being one of four English speakers leaving us missing too much of the commentary by the guide. Questions asked by others were answered in Spanish. Other Spanish speaking guests tended to chat when the English translations were made.

This was the first time we have taken a multi-day tour with Viator. Up until now we had booked several museum tours and day tours, which were all excellent. The itinerary for this trip was very comprehensive. We wanted to experience the destinations this trip afforded us that would be otherwise difficult without a car, so it met our expectations with a couple of exceptions. I would have rather skipped Isola Del Pescatore and spent more time on the next stop which was Isola Bella on Lake Maggiore. With so little time there we were not able to see the Boromeo Palace or the gardens. That was something we wanted to see. I would have also skipped the last stop, which was Lago d'Iseo, and spent more time exploring Verona. Iseo was not that interesting compared to the other stops on the lakes. Our guide, though very nice, did not supply us with enough background information and anecdotal accounts about the sites we visited. That has always been a strongpoint on our Viator tours. Had I known that before the trip I would have done my homework. We were happy with the three hotels. They were well located. All in all, we are very happy we went on this four-day tour.

Viator has a terrific Itinerary for the Lakes! However, we were told that it would be an English tour and instead it was English/Spanish tour. Because there were 31 Spanish and only 7 English, they got priority. I would NEVER take a bilingual tour again--too much time is lost in translation and the site has passed by the time the English is spoken. The guide's English left a lot to be desired. The hotels were great, but you should charge more and not have people have to pay tax each day. I hesitate to recommend this tour to friends--even though the sites were fantastic--because of the disorganization and multiple language. I also think you should offer the option of having your bags moved. Many older tourists would be willing to pay more and go on this tour if they could have their bags handled. I loved all the boat rides and the places we visited. The bus did not have adequate above the seat storage. Many of us come to Europe for a month or more and we have to carry backpacks and duffels which did not fit.

This tour enabled us to see so much of the beautiful Italian Lakes area on a short tour. The four boat trips offered different experiences of the Lakes and opportunities to explore islands on the lakes. The visits to the islands and to towns on the lakesides also provided plenty of free time to explore by ourselves. The tour included spanish and english speakers and the guide Vittoria seemed to move seamlessly from one to the other to ensure that we were all included and he covered everything in both languages. Aspects about the tour that I particularly liked was that it was not a large group - 18 passengers, guide and driver from the website I understand that with 8 or fewer passengers the tour operates using a minivan and driver and was only semi-structured with plenty of 'free' time at places visited. The tour operator Europanda and Europa also run a tour of the Dolomites which was timed so that it could be an 'add on' to this trip from Verona - would be good to have a link to that option from the Viator site as could suit those that like travelling independently but taking short flexible tours for part of their journey.
