Come for a pottery lesson and leave with a smile and the beginnings of a whole new creative skill. You'll be amazed at how much fun it can be to play in the clay with child-like abandon.
You will learn all about working with clay including how to wedge, center on the wheel, create a cylinder, turn it into a bowl and more.
This lesson revolves around our belief that you are coming here for fun.
If you are a couple, it's a perfect way to have fun together.
You will start at the beginning by learning all about clay and the process of taking raw clay and turning it into a piece of art.
You will begin what could turn into a lifetime journey of fun, satisfaction, peace, skill-building and how learning to throw pottery on the wheel can be a metaphor for so much of life.
Learning how to throw pottery on the wheel takes time and patience.
This is not a simple paint your own pot thing. This is where you actually get into the clay and form it on the wheel.
The process of creating a finished product takes several weeks due to firing and drying time. Because of this, you won't be leaving with a great experience and an educatin but not a finished product.

Well coached pottery throwing class with ongoing support to finish work all the way! Nice space. Steve is great at helping you learn and make progress in your pottery journey! I recommend a class with him!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at the pottery studio. We had great and fun instruction. We were able to work with the clay on the wheel which peaked our interest to continue to try more classes. I would recommended this experience to everyone.

Steve and Elizabeth were very welcoming and kind, I had a blast talking and being shown around the studio. I got to leave with a good basis for doing pottery and definitely plan to go back!

Great little studio, went in knowing nothing about pottery and left with a respect and understanding of basic skills taught in patient, hands on way that I truly enjoyed. Steve was a great teacher and kept us smiling the whole day!

I am very glad that I chose Steve and his studio for the first master class on modeling pots. Thank you Steve and Elisabeth for the amazing experience and nice talk. It was very interesting, the whole process was very entertaining and will always remain in my memory a pleasant event from Whitefish, Montana.
And be careful on the road if you drive your own car in winter time 🤪

I spend six months with Steve and Elisabeth doing an artist journey. Art Escape is a come-as-you-are place. They are both great host both in and outside the studio. My interactions with Steve inside the studio were always encouraging and he always checked to ensure he was providing the kind of guidance I was looking for. Watching him throw fifty pounds of clay in under two hours was impressive and gave me the gusto to up my weight. During my stay, I experienced some difficulties and they were accommodating in ensuring I was able to get places and fed. Elisabeth was great for recommendations of things to do in the area and introduced me to some cool people. Sitting in on a few of Steve's classes I can say you'll leave thinking differently both about clay and more. The class is set in an oasis full of wonderful plants and the sound of water trickling from Steve's beautiful jungle leaf water fountains. The studio is tidy and the surrounding area is stunning with some great trails for residence and the space is right down the road from Tally Lake which is a must-see and also has camping. Over all my experience was 5 stars and I'll always treasure my escape experience.

Steve was a great teacher, mentor, and friend during the experience. He's very good at his craft and also had an amazing playlist to boot. Hard to beat an experience like this!
