Stop At: Frognerseteren, Oslo Municipality, Norway

Our trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre located at the bustling Jernbanetorget. We will hop aboard the Frognerseteren metro line taking a scenic train ride with breathtaking views of the winter landscape.

As we reach the Frognerseteren station, we will be greeted by our first panoramic view of the city and fjord. If you think this view is great, just wait until we get to our destination of Vettakollen mountain where we will look down over the city of Oslo and the surrounding fjord.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Oslomarka, Oslo Ost Frognerseteren, Oslo 687 Norway

As we reach the Frognerseteren station, we will be greeted by our first panoramic view of the city and fjord. If you think this view is great, just wait until we get to our destination of Vettakollen mountain where we will look down over the city of Oslo and the surrounding fjord. We will wind our way through the winter forest landscape and along small frozen ponds that are inhabited by the mystical creature named Huldra. Our first stop on our adventure will be near a small Norwegian cabin called Fuglemyrhytta - this is a cozy spot to relax and take in the views. Our guide will tell you about the importance of these cabins in Norwegian culture.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Vettakollen Viewpoint, Oslo 0890 Norway

From there our adventure will continue through the snow laden forest to the most spectacular spot of our journey – the summit of Vettakollen mountain offering breathtaking views of the city and the Oslofjord. Take in the crisp winter air and don't forget to take a photo to capture this special memory.

Here we will enjoy a break while learning about the beautiful area we are looking down upon. Experiencing a moment like this with good company and "hygge" is something embedded in Norwegian life.

After enjoying the view, we will go down to the metro station and finish our trip at Jernbanetorget.

Very nice hiking experience through a nice winter landscape and with great views over Oslo with a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide! The spikes provided by the guide were easy to put on and made walking on ice and snow feel easy and safe. Speed and terrain are suitable for beginners or families with children, too. Food and drinks provided by Oslo hiking were delicious, too!

We really enjoyed the 4 hour winter walk tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, helping us to better understand local culture while exploring the amazing nature just outside of Oslo City Centre. My only recommendation would be to offer this tour with varying levels of difficulty, as we would have liked a bit more strenuous hike, but didn't have the knowledge to go ourselves.
