The ticket we had wasn't 'registered' with the tour company so they had no record of us having paid. Called VIATOUR and the person on the phone said they would get in touch with the tour company to help us get the situation sorted. I am still waiting for a reply from them, 6 weeks later. I would not recommend buying a ticket through this website and buy it from a seller at your holiday location.

This was a very disappointing tour as the commentator was so brief there was no history included. All my experiences around the world on hop on hop off buses included much information about the various stops. Waste of money!

This is one of the bad Hop on Hop Off bus experience we had. The bus frequency was hourly with no information or schedule provided to us, so it was a wait & watch for us. Both bus routes are bit unorganised and to be honest we felt like we were wasting our time being in this bus. Some of the buses were dirty and uncomfortable and there was not much information on the audio guide The harbour line was a good experience and overall all the staff members ,except one driver, were very helpful and cooperative. I would suggest to take hop on hop off only if you have extra time to kill and just want to take a bus ride.

After checking customer reviews I was really afraid that this tour is a bad idea, but it was nice! Buses were on time on each stop. My headphones worked, audio guide was full of information about history, food and every stop and village we passed. Really good experience! What I did not like is that during the winter there are buses once per hour so you cannot really get off on all interesting stops. Also there is a huge issue that full current schedule is not available on the stops or anywhere. On my day somehow first bus was only at 10 am, so I missed an hour. I ordered ticket online and that is a must to inform customers on such changes. At least there should be a piece of paper on the stops with this data. Also there were no WiFi in buses.

We didn't enjoy our hop on hop off experience. It was so hard to find a time schedule online - the website isn't very user friendly so we found it hard to plan our day in advance. The bus stops are not well signposted, so on our first day, we were unsure if we were in the right place for the bus. There aren't many seats on board (mostly outside upstairs) so if it's rainy or cold in winter, it's a struggle to get sat downstairs. The buses are shabby, dirty and some of the speaker outlets weren't working. The audio tour was very sparse. We rode the entirety of the 2 routes and it was probably 60% of the time that it was total silence. The facts were also repeated between routes. The speaking also kept being cut off as we arrived at stops so we missed a lot of it. The buses aren't very frequent and they stop so early in the afternoon, so we only managed 2 or 3 stops per day before the buses finished. You have to wait an hour or more between buses so if you finish a stop quickly, you have to wait ages to be collected. The buses sometimes came early but more often came late, so the schedule wasn't much use anyway. Not all stops we're stopped at so it was difficult to know where you were on the trip, especially if the timings were off and didn't match the schedule. It would be great if an app could be developed to track where the buses were so you knew how long you had to wait etc. this technology is available already (we can track our buses at home in the UK) so it should be easy for worldwide city siteseeing to implement this. The adverts say the buses provide WiFi on board, but when a customer asked how to connect she was told there was no WiFi on board. The buses weren't always clearly labelled as to what route they were (north/south/yellow) and some had the wrong sign displayed. We had 20 minutes of confusion in Mdina when 3 buses arrived at the same time some with the wrong sign and lots of passengers were told to get off the bus they were on and go on one of the others and the rest of us were pushed around between the buses with everyone shouting and confused. Overall, we wish we'd just paid for taxi's to the sites we were interested in. It would have probably worked out as a similar price and would have been more comfortable, quicker and a more efficient use of time especially if you're on a limited timescale.

Can be up to 3 hours on a bus, no toilets and uncomfortable seats. Difficult for the poor staff with traffic issues or events that the management don't seem to plan for, thus causing delays and the drivers are often the ones getting it in the neck from customers. The drivers were fantastic, polite and really helpful which is why I've given 2 stars for them. The time table accounts for travel to said stops and doesn't factor in people getting on and off the bus. You can be stood waiting for buses, in our experience upto 1 hour 45, due to a crash on the route somewhere. So overall its not really hop on hop off to see all there is, it would be cheaper to get a 7 day bus ticket and go direct. Example would be pick up in Bugibba at 8, you're not getting to Marsaxlokk Sunday market until 11am, whereas a public transport bus would have you there in 45 minutes. That said you get headphones and are told all sorts of fascinating information whilst you travel around. So if that's what interests you more, this is a good option to possibly get 2 hours in at 3 or 4 places each on a 48 hour pass, otherwise hire a car, or do the bus. I particularly missed this narration on the Harbour Cruise from Sliema for the 3 cities. There was audio, but difficult to hear over all the passengers and the engine. The passes operate for 24 or 48 hours which can be misleading thinking you'd have plenty of time to explore the vast majority of Maltas wonderful experiences, a hour here and there, but given the delays and poor organisation, you spend the majority of that time stranded at bus stops or panicking you may miss the last one. The drivers as noted were excellent, and couldn't wish for better customer service from them, unfortunately a lot of planning and organisation by the management team leaves the poor souls out to dry bless them.
