Stop At: Waimea Canyon State Park, Waimea Canyon Dr, Waimea, Kauai, HI 96796
Driving east to west, you’ll witness a change in vegetation and climate as you transition into the “rain shadow,” characterized by the arid farmland of the island’s leeward side (on the opposite side of mountains from typical trade wind direction). Along the way, we’ll pass through the agricultural towns of Hanapēpē and Waimea and learn the important role they played in Kauaʻi’s history.
Your tour continues across the center of the island, winding along the rim of Waimea Canyon and to the North Shore, 4,000 feet (1,220 m) above the spectacular Nāpali Coast. Rainbow-colored canyon walls and cool mountain air create an otherworldly ambiance that’s unlike anything you’ve experienced.
We will stop at a couple of the choicest Waimea Canyon overlooks, including one with a view of 800-foot Waipo’o Falls, before beginning our ridge hike from one of the trailheads in Kōkeʻe State Park or Waimea Canyon SP (depending on your private group and local conditions).

Your tour continues across the center of the island, winding along the rim of Waimea Canyon and to the North Shore, 4,000 feet (1,220 m) above the spectacular Nāpali Coast. There we will enjoy jaw-dropping views of the world-famous Nāpali Coast and/or Waimea Canyon from these vantage points (weather permitting).
We will eat lunch inside charmingly rustic Kōkeʻe Lodge in between hikes/overlooks or at a picnic spot, if you chose to pack a lunch. ambiance that’s unlike anything you’ve experienced.
Price listed does not include visitor entrance & parking charge. This fee goes to help support and maintain our precious state parks and will vary depending on the size of your group. It can be paid by credit card at self-service kiosks in select state park parking lots.

Our tour guide, Bright, was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable about the island, botany and animal habitat. He took us off the beaten path on a trail with an epic view of multiple waterfalls. The best part was that there were no tourists or people on our trail. We would not have found this trail without him. Well worth it! Highlight of our trip

My Honolulu-based family was looking to do a day trip to Kauai, an intimidating task as we didn't know much about the island. Kauai Hiking Tours provided the exact tour that we wanted to make a short trip extra special.
From booking to the end of our tour, they were super accommodating of preferences and needs, picking and dropping us off at the airport and letting us call the shots of what we wanted to do for the day.
Our guide, Nick, was very knowledgable about Kauai and took us to some remarkable spots to check out – many that were a bit off the beaten track. Nick helped us develop a deeper sense of appreciation for the island, from its unique geological features to its history and culture. It's one thing to see Kauai's natural beauty, it's another to really understand what makes it such an incredible place.
Highly recommend this tour if you're looking to go around with a local guide! Gave us some great times and special memories.

This tour was full of spectacular sights and soul-feeding beauty beyond description. Our guide, Maluhia was UH-MAZing, and tailored this tour to our specific interests and abilities. She was well prepared for our comfort and convenience too! We especially loved the forests, waterfalls and tour hike to/from the natural spring. Kauai is very special, and so was our guide.

Bright, our guide for the day, was engaging, very knowledgeable, and definitely in-tune with ensuring we really enjoyed ourselves. He modified and planned the trip based upon our desires and fitness level. We were really impressed with his knowledge of flora and fauna, geology and culture. He has a contagious passion for Hawaii.

Our tour guide Bright was great! We hit all the highlights and a few secret spots. He recommended a great breakfast spot to meet and took us to a great taco place for lunch. Very relaxing and stress free day!

Jeremiah was an exceptional hiking guide for our outdoor adventure on Kauai. He is very experienced, very accommodating and well versed with knowledge about every area of the island. We had the most amazing lunch and were taught about many trees, birds, native plants and so much more. We highly recommend this tour guide for your next adventure to this tropical paradise.

This tour was designed just for us, we are over 50 and can’t hike very far. This day was amazing - we saw the Maniniholo dry cave, Hanalei Bay and spent time on beautiful beaches! Jenny did a great job showing us key points and customs in Kauai - thank you!! Would book again!
