Itinerary

Pass By: College Green, Dublin, Ireland

We begin our journey of Dublin at its beating heart, College Green. Even today, this is still a bustling hub for the Irish capital and we will be able to weave in-between everyone and everything on our unique bike! We will be able to take in beautiful architecture from the 1700s, like the old Irish Parliament building - today a branch of the Bank of Ireland. You can really see why so many important events take place right here, from U.S Presidential speeches to the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade!

Pass By: Trinity College Dublin, Grafton St. College Green, Dublin 2 Ireland

Ireland has been known as the land of saints and scholars for nearly 2,000 years and on our tour, we will go by its most famous academic institution - Trinity College Dublin. You can really get a sense of the depth of history and prestige that seeps off every brick on this mighty school. From our perspective, we will be able to take in the breadth of this institution in the middle of Dublin.

Stop At: Monument to Oscar Wilde, Corner of Merrion Square Park, Dublin Ireland

One of our most famous wits and writers, among a great many, has to be Oscar Wilde. He grew up right here at Merrion Square in Dublin and his home has been lovingly maintained. Across the road, in the corner of the park is his statue. Made with different colors of marble, this statue makes a fitting memorial to Oscar’s unique and colorful character.

Duration: 2 minutes

Pass By: Leinster House, Kildare Street, Dublin 2 Ireland

This magnificent Georgian manor house is the seat of power in Ireland today. Formerly the private residence of the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, these days the Irish government calls this place home. We will be able to get a glimpse of the weight of history that lives here on our tour.

Stop At: Merrion Square, Dublin Ireland

Most visitors to Dublin never see Merrion Square and as we explore its Georgian exterior, you will see why that is such a shame! Today this public park is a highly popular spot with locals and there are all sorts of events that take place here throughout the year. We will skirt around its edge and you will be able to see some of the gorgeous Georgian homes and famous doors that overlook this beautiful green space. Which still actually is green!

Duration: 1 minute

Pass By: Pepper Canister Church, 7 Mount St Cres, Dublin 2, D02 HC65, Ireland

Before we head to the Grand Canal, we will see one of the most beloved churches in Dublin, the Pepper Canister Church. Named for the shape of spice containers around the time of its construction. Today, this church is often used for musical performances and sits at the center of a beautiful intersection, surrounded by Georgian buildings. From our bike, we will be able to get an unparalleled view of this building!

Pass By: Grand Canal, Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland

The Grand Canal is definitely one of the best things about Dublin. At pretty much any time of the day, you will be able to find people milling about along its length. While there aren’t nearly as many barges as there used to be, some people do still use it. When we get here, we will visit the statue of the famous Irish poet, Patrick Kavanagh. His poem “Grand Canal Walk” was inspired by the beautiful nature and scenery along its bank.

Stop At: Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin Ireland

Fitzwilliam Street is one of the longest Georgian Streets in the world. We are going to take our bike from modern, 21st-century offices back in time 300 years when we arrive here. Once we get to Fitzwilliam Square, we will be able to get right up close to the very best of Georgian Dublin and see the smallest of all the squares in the city.

Duration: 2 minutes

Pass By: St Stephens Green, at the top end of Grafton St, Dublin 2 Ireland

Stephen’s Green is one of the most beloved parks in all of Dublin. This is the biggest and grandest of all the Georgian squares and was even home to the likes of Arthur Guinness and Grace Kelly - But not at the same time of course! We are going to explore some of the streets around the Green and learn about some of its medieval origins.

Pass By: Patrick Kavanagh statue, Wilton Terrace, Dublin Ireland

Our Grand Canal spin will finish with the statue of the famous Irish poet, Patrick Kavanagh. His poem “Grand Canal Walk” was inspired by the beautiful nature and scenery along its bank.

Pass By: Grafton Street, Dublin Ireland

This is the main shopping street in Dublin and as it's pedestrianized, there are few other tours that will be able to manage to explore it - but we will! This street has been mentioned in songs, stories and poems for generations. We will get to explore part of this famous thoroughfare and some of the nearby streets.

Stop At: Ship Street Great, Dublin, Ireland

Dublin is well over 1,000 years old and was originally founded by the Vikings. Once we leave the Georgian districts, we will delve further back in time. As we progress through cobblestone streets, our tour will go through the oldest sections of the medieval town. We will learn about why the Vikings chose to build a city here and even where the name of “Dublin” comes from. Stop and take a picture of the lessor known 'Forty Steps' and the most impressive remaining section of Dublin’s historic defensive walls.

Duration: 2 minutes

Pass By: Saint Patrick's Cathedral, 21-50 Patrick's Close Off Clanbrassil St., Dublin 8 Ireland

While claims that this 5th century saint drove the snakes out of Ireland are pretty dubious, he is regarded as the man who brought Christianity to Ireland and ushered in the golden age of the island. This is where the “Land of Saints and Scholars” name comes from. We will visit the site of Patrick’s first Christian conversions in Ireland and learn about the Cathedral named after him on this important site.

Stop At: Christ Church Cathedral, Christchurch Pl, Wood Quay, Dublin 8, Co. Dublin, Ireland

The final stop on our tour brings us to a religious site, even older than St. Patrick’s Cathedral - Christchurch. There has been a church here for around 1,000 years! We are going to be able to take in this history - as well as the amazing views of this building on our tour.

Duration: 2 minutes

Pass By: Dame St Dublin Castle, Dublin 2 Ireland

Dublin Castle was the seat of British rule in Ireland for over 700 years. It is also where Ireland got its independence. We will see this wonderful city center castle from two different angles. Then we will head back to our starting location where we will part ways!

Wonderful scenic tour of Dublin with a very informative audio guide. Our driver was super friendly and attentive. We got plenty of looks from pedestrians as this is a new addition to the Dublin scene. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a private tour of the city.

We call this experience: “We saw Dublin with Steve!” And, it was wonderful! 🌟5 Stars!🌟 The service is affordable, interesting, and quite true to its advertising of about 45 minutes to an hour in duration. At €35 per person, it was an affordable hour well spent. But this feedback is supposed to be about the booking online process. The new startup quirks reared their ugly heads for us. Frankly, the booking online routine did not work -at first- on our iPhones using Safari. However, when the phone asked to change the browser to “Duck-Duck Go”, there was no problem getting the reservation and payment in order. However, my wife and I fully enjoyed this tour and would love to go again if it had an additional route. Steve, our driver, was outstanding!

Being able to pull over to the side of the road, get out and chat and ask questions. Steven was well informed and very personable. He was also genuinely interested in meeting our needs and getting to know us and where we were from. I would recommend this tour to couples or solo travellers. Great way to see the city.

With only 1 full day in Dublin, and some mobility impairment, this tour was perfect for us! We loved the interesting back stories and facts about each place we drove by. We packed in so much but it didn’t feel rushed. The 1 hour tour is all we needed to understand the history of Dublin and Ireland through the architecture of each time period. The tour left us with time to experience more of Dublin and ideas of which sights explore when we have more time. I couldn’t upload photos for this review but I was able to take some lovely photos that I will cherish. Thanks Steven, you are a great driver! And thanks for giving us time at a few stops and for taking our photo.

We booked this tour on a whim and were pleasantly surprised at how awesome it was! My husband and I had a few extra hours to kill before we flew home and were going to just jump on the hop on hop off bus, but we aren't the biggest fans of large groups of people. We like more personalized tours. Our hotel, Cassidys Hotel (also a great choice!), had brochures for this tour in their lobby. It seemed like the more personalized experience we were looking for and it was a good price! So glad we booked this!! Alan was nice, attentive, personable and quick to respond. He took us to the most beautiful parts of the city that we wouldn't have seen on our own nor on the bus. The city of Dublin has so much history and culture and we were able to engulf ourselves more into it on this tour! Would highly recommend Alan and this company to anyone. They are a new company with a great vision and deserve to be recognized!!

Cozy little coach for two. Nice overview of the city. This vehicle can drive in the bike lanes, so traffic is not an issue. Had 3 stops for photos.

What a fun way to see the beautiful city of Dublin! Alan, our driver, was fabulous and provided a fun experience along with interesting facts about Dublin. We appreciated the sustainable nature of the tour vehicle and the companies passion for the environment. They only launched a short time ago and people showed great interest as we drove through the city. Fun activity for young and old alike!
