We'll just begin this review with the proof that what we're about to write about this tour really comes from our heart: we joined this tour for the second time, and had asked for this wonderful guide, Shane, to lead our second tour as he had made our first tour an unforgettable experience! In this wonderful tour, you'll get to learn a lot from Shane about the rich Irish breweries for beers, whiskies and other beverages. His storytelling talent is so excellent, that you'll want to taste the stuff he"s talking about. And you'll get to taste them in 3 cosy beautiful Irish local pubs up on the Wicklow mountains, often accompanied by lovely live music! We were in the tour with a befriended couple, and were joined by 10 other peole we didn't know. Shane said in the beginning of the tour: "In an Irish pub, strangers are just friends you haven't met yet" And he was definetely right: soon enough the whole group began to laugh and sing together like old friends! Shane has just this talent to make everybody feel at ease and bond with each other. Despite the fact that alcohol beverages are central in this tour, one of us who is a teetotaller didn't feel left-out at all. Shane made sure of that during the tour, and he advised some great non-alcoholic beverages available at the pubs. It is so nice that everybody was included as a group! We can't recommend this tour enough to fill up your Sunday afternoon if you're in Dublin. You'll get such a fun experience that you'll want to come back again. Therefore, we said to Shane at the end of our second tour: see you in the next tour!!!

I can’t say enough great things about this tour. This is my second time in two years doing this tour. I had so much fun the first time that I had to do it again but I brought more people with me this time. This is a great way to meet people and make new friends while enjoying a different view of Dublin and some pubs that the locals frequent. On our way out to the first pub, our host, Shane, have us a great overview of what to expect for the day ahead of us. He also shared some interesting facts and history about places we passed along the way. What a beautiful view of the countryside in a clean 15 passenger van with big windows so no one misses anything along the way. All the pubs have a sightly different feel with live Irish traditional music to listen to at at least one of pubs. The food at the second pub was absolutely excellent and the view from the third overlooking the coastal village of Howth was amazing. The best part about this trip and the reason I would do it again and again is simply our host, Shane! He made everyone feel very welcome, encouraged questions, and made a conscious but appeared seamless effort to make sure everyone had an incredible time. He had tables already reserved for the tour group. In the first bar, he chose seating where people within the different groups were able to mingle with each other. At each bar, he would share his recommendations for local brews and spirits, including special pours, for example a lager with a “Guinness top”. For the second bar, he made sure we got seating by the band and suggested traditional food to eat. By the time we left the third bar, he had us singing in the van the whole way home. My only complaint is that 5 hours (we did the 1p-6p tour) was not enough time and we will be back for the longer mountainside tour next time. Shane is the best and has us all laughing the whole time. We were so happy he was once again our tour guide and driver.

I've already done the Afternoon Dublin Mountain Pub Tour and the Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Pub tour during two visits to Dublin. I would definitely recommed both depending on how much time you can spend. Shane has individual drink recommendations for each Pub and for the food you can also rely on his suggestions. He is also doing an entertaining bus ride between the pubs. At least in one pub there is always music. I had an awesome day on both tours.

We had an amazing experience on this tour, this was just not visiting local pubs with a nice atmosphere, but a entire experience not soon to be forgotten. Our tourguide was very focused on not just being the typical tourguide with talking about the history etc but was very focused on creating a nice atmosphere with the entire group, making sure the entire group bonded, absorbed the local atmosphere and planned everything meticulously to ensure the best afternoon we could get! This is for me the highlight of our time in Dublin!!

Amazing experience! The tour is well thought out, planned, and executed. When we go back to Dublin we will book a tour again. Having Shane as a guide was great, he was on time, made the drive to the country pleasant sharing stories and history. Shane being a local himself, his overall experience, and network at the pubs made it a truly one of a kind authentic experience. Our group felt like locals outside the city and having pints with the townsfolk. Our group was great and we were able to make new friends.

I cannot recommend this tour enough. Shane is an excellent tour guide - it felt like being shown around by an old friend. The pubs we visited were all very unique and the views were breathtaking. I went on this tour for my birthday and Shane made sure it was one to remember - nothing like having an entire pub sing Happy Birthday to you. Next time I'm in Ireland I will probably do the 8 hour version of this, it was that much fun.

This was a perfect tour to get out of the city and explore pubs in the Dublin mountains. Shane is a fantastic guide. He added a little history and humor to his stories and encouraged everyone to interact and have fun together.

We loved this tour. Four of us, including my father, sister, and husband were visiting Ireland for the first time and wanted to experience some rural pub culture. The three pubs were cozy and lots of fun, and the food at Johnnie Fox’s was delicious. We all wished we’d booked the longer tour by the end! Shane was an excellent guide. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, and made everyone feel comfortable and safe. He even helped us to book other tours that interested us and gave us advice for the rest our trip!
