Stop At: Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon, Albuquerque, NM 87113-1765
Rise early to begin your hot-air balloon experience. Stop into the office for check-in, then ride to the balloon launch site (which varies day-to-day depending on weather).
Your pilot begins the process of inflating the balloon when you arrive. You can even help out the crew during the inflation process for a more hands-on experience.
As you float high above the ground, enjoy incredible birds-eye views of the Rio Grande Valley. Your pilot determines the route for the day depending on the wind’s direction. You may fly over the city of Albuquerque and even dip low enough to wave at people or skim the Rio Grande River. Throughout your flight, your pilot shares informative commentary about the landscape beneath you.
After approximately one hour in the air, your pilot lands the balloon and the ground crew comes to meet you. Celebrate your flight with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and a commemorative flight certificate before returning to the original starting point.

Flights can only be operated with safe winds, clear sky and no rain. In case of unsuitable weather conditions, you will be provided the option to take the tour on an alternative date or be refunded in full.

From start to finish the experience was fantastic. A fun, knowledgable balloonist/pilot; a kind and helpful crew; friendly co-travelers; spectacular views are all elements of this once in a lifetime (for most) experience. I was the nervous one in my group, but it was such a peaceful ride my nerves quickly dissolved into bliss and awe of the landscape. I’d choose Rainbow Ryders again and again.

It was amazing to see the teamwork and complexity required to take off and to land the balloon. Elevation varied from 10 to 2,900 feet. First time in an air balloon. Special once in a lifetime experience.

Our pilot was very entertaining! His first priority was our safety which we appreciated. We had to wait a little bit for the wind to die down but that didn't take away from the balloon time.

This was definitely an experience of a lifetime. The weather was great, not too windy. The group that we had with us were very pleasant and friendly. The scenery was outstanding. Last but not least our guide was top-tier. He made us feel safe, at ease, and very comfortable thousands of feet up in the air. He was very smooth with the controls and made it feel like we were literally floating in the air. The landing was also very smooth. I would highly recommend this experience to everyone. Me and my partner smile at our pictures of this momemt all the time.

My husband and I had an amazing time with our pilot Anthony on the Rainbow Ryder Hot Air Balloon ride in Albuquerque ! We would recommend this to anyone and everyone! Early morning was the way to go, but make sure to stop off and pick up coffee because they don’t serve any at the starting point. However, the flight ended with Champagne, mimosas and a funny story.
