Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Salerno, Salerno, Amalfi Coast, Province of Salerno, Campania

Once a collection of fishing villages, Italy's magnificent Amalfi Coast is now a world-class tourist destination. But as is often the case, with great beauty come great problems. Too many vehicles, crippling traffic, too few parking areas, and hairpin curves that make two-way traffic unbearable, are just a few of the challenges faced by Italy's Amalfi Coast in recent years.

This day trip from Rome allows you to travel smarter, without sacrificing on comfort or style. Visiting the Amalfi Coast by high-speed train means you'll not only enjoy extra legroom and complimentary beverages and snacks, but you'll also cut travel time to the coast in HALF. You'll step off the train and onto the pier where your Amalfi Coast adventure begins.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Positano, Positano, Amalfi Coast, Province of Salerno, Campania

In an intimate group, your guide will lead the way from the train to the ferryboat. Once seated, enjoy a one-hour cruise from Salerno to Positano the UNESCO World Heritage site of once-fishing villages-turned stomping ground for the world's elite. You'll step back onto terra ferma to explore Positano, the jewel of the Amalfi Coast. Choose whether to have a morning swim or explore the dozens of chic boutiques and artisan shops, then enjoy a leisurely lunch before returning to the pier for a short ride to our next destination, the town of Amalfi.

It’s no wonder why this stunning coastline takes its name from Amalfi. This bustling town is where the action is, packed with shops, beaches, restaurants, and picture-perfect photo ops. Your guide will provide you with a short orientation stroll including an overview of the 11th-century cathedral and a limoncello tasting at one of the local shops, after which you can enjoy some free time shopping and exploring or hit the beach.

Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes

Stop At: Amalfi, Amalfi, Amalfi Coast, Province of Salerno, Campania

From Amalfi, enjoy a short cruise back to Salerno while taking in unique views of the towns of Minori, Maiori, Cetara, and Ravello from the water. Your guide will accompany you from the pier to the station (just a few steps away) in time for your return journey to Rome.

It was canceled, and didn’t get notified until after the meet up time. That we had to take a bus to get to the train station.

Excellent! Experience was superb. From the train ride, Pompei , winery and return trip every detail was perfect. Tour guide, Peppe, was wonderful. So knowledgeable and friendly - The visit to Pompeii was a bucket list item that I now could check off. Would highly recommend.

Enjoyed our day to the Amalfi Coast and Positano. The tour guide was great with our group of 10. Only thing not in our control, the weather. Could have been a little sunny and not so overcast. Oh, well. The trip was still worth it. One thing for the tour operator, our to/from Salerno for the bullet train said carriage 9. To/from for the trip we had to find seats that weren't already sold/taken on any carrirage 1 through 7.

Tour guide did not assist with directions to/on train. Therefore we paid over $500 for a tour that we didn’t take. And Viator refuses to reimburse any part of our payment.

This trip was a big disappointment. It was not the tour guides fault . He was very nice. The trip should have been at least 2 hours maybe 3 and Amalfi 1 or 2 at the most. I have been to both towns at least 6 times. I have stayed in Positano and Ravello. I selected this trip to show my 34 year old grandson the area. Others on the trip felt the same. Positano is on the water and the views are terrific when dining from any of the waterside restaurants . The shops are more diverse then Amalfi and there are more shops then all the same trinket shops in Amalfi. Also the guide did not have head sets for us to be able explain any of the sites enroute. He hopped like a bunny from person to person on the ferry trying to talk to each group individually. Again not his fault l All in all extremely overpriced for the experience and a huge disappointment . I have taken other Viator excursions and have enjoyed them all except this one. Bad value for the cost

Our tour guide was named Mauro who was great! Friendly, full of knowledge on food recommendations once in Amalfi town and Amalfi cathedral relics, and even had gum on hand for any who suffers from sea sickness. We were unable to go to Positano due to the sea but we were happy to spend a longer period of time in Amalfi. Amalfi is as stunning as the photos demonstrate. Would definitely go again!
