Amazing trip with a wonderful guide. Was able to catch the glowing planktons and the fireflies in addition to stopping at a temple on the way in! Memorable experience.. Be prepared for delays due to heavy traffic though! Visiting an old fort and taking in the distant Malacca strait was an added bonus. Highly recommend this trip and our guide LG from Lava travels

The fireflies were amazing, we were able to see them close up and our boat operator caught one for us and passed it to us and we were able to have it on our hands which was amazing, also the blue tears was a wonderful experience and I would recommend this trip.

Was quite some experience, worth doing and seeing. Make sure you take insect repellent with you. Really enjoyed the fireflies

Very disappointed, these photos have been photoshopped big time. Long drive for a hour boat ride. The firefly’s were a few flashing lights in the trees. The blue tears were a few blue bugs in the water if you were lucky to catch them.. driver was friendly and drive comfortable but not worth it.

LG was a great guide and led us around, giving explanations where relevant and answering questions. The monkeys were my favourite part as they climb on you when you feed them. The main events, the fireflies and Blue Tears were somewhat underwhelming, especially if you're trying to take photos. However, I do think they are worth experiencing once.

We had booked this as a group tour so were very surprised when the driver of the 16 seater minibus arrived and told us we were the only people who had booked the trip on that day. This meant we effectively had a personal guided tour thanks to the wonderful “LG” who was to take us on a first class tour with a visit to a temple and to a view of the Malacca Straights before we had dinner in the fishing village from where we would then be travelling to the mangroves in a very fast boat to see the fireflies and then out to sea to experience the “blue tears” LG was very informative and gave us lots of information about his country throughout the day. He was very tactful and knew when to step back to give us our own time between stops. The fireflies were an amazing sight to see and the crew even caught some in a net for us to hold in our hands. Then it was out into open waters to experience the “blue tears”. Everyone on board was given a net to stir up the water with to see the bioluminescence. The bioluminescence wasn’t particularly spectacular but I think like all natural phenomenon there is an element of luck on the day. All in all we had a great trip and are so grateful to LG for his care and attentiveness.

We were disappointed. There were not very many firefly’s. The Blue algae was nothing like The photos on trip advisor. when you put a very small net in the water you saw some. And occasionally you might catch a glimpse of pale blue if a wave was big enough.

Nice tour, our driver Siva was amazing and informative. And the fireflies were nice, but bioluminescent algae were great!

I recently went on a firefly tour with Metro Tour, and it was an absolute delight! The experience started with watching monkeys near Mount Malawati, followed by a delicious seafood dinner at a fishing village. The highlight was the 40-minute boat trip, where we were treated to a mesmerizing display of fireflies. The speedy boat added an extra element of fun, ensuring everyone had a fair chance to enjoy the trip. We even spotted some lizards along the river, adding to the adventure. A special shout-out to our private transfer, Mr. Standley Pute from Metro Tour, who was wonderful and contributed to making this tour unforgettable. Highly recommended for a magical evening surrounded by nature's wonders!

We really had to look hard to see any fireflies - its not close to the pictures posted to advertise - we saw them one by one here and there. Was still different, but the expectations created by the advert was not met - not even close Blue tears - major dissappointment as well - nothing close to blue, a few white speckles in the “fishing net” that you get to splash around the surface. It could be weather related, we had great weather on the say, but maybe rain / or no rain in the days before could have contributed? But i think this is seasonal and should be advertised as such. Overall - a bit disappointed, the advertising was very much hyped up from what we actually saw
