Absolutely loved this beautiful museum. So many things I've never seen at any museum. The history of Mexico had so many beautiful items, facts and history. The presentation of the animals was amazing. Overall, a very beautiful museums with a lot to see and do.

We visited the museum much later than intended and were met with the pleasant surprise that, as there was only one hour left of opening hours that day, entry was free! We had a great visit and the exhibits are interesting and well looked after.

We visited the American Museum of Natural History for the first time in many years. Our objective was to view a specific exhibition in the Northwest Coast Hall. We were so very happy to see it. Grounded by our Roots spotlights the work of five emerging Indigenous Northwest Coast artists. Each artist draws on tradition and teachings of their mentors, while expanding possibilities in form and personal expression. Their work is a fitting complement to the many displays of historic and traditional artifacts displayed in this hall to stunning effect.
The museum is vast and complex, with more than can possibly be viewed in one visit. We opted for the free highlights tour. We were very glad we did this. Our guide, a personable and knowledgeable volunteer, clearly loved the museum and her role, introducing its delights to visitors. We walked and listened for 75 minutes, learning about the history of the museum and its exhibits. We visited half a dozen exhibits and learned a few facts about each. Our guide also explained how each exhibit was organized, and suggested how a visit there could be most fully enjoyed. We finished the tour feeling impressed and grateful for a wonderful sampling of the museum’s richness and depth.
This place is a treasure. We will not wait so long to visit again.

If you pay in advance you shouldn't have to stand in line for 20 minutes outside then 20 minutes inside to get my tickets. Next time I will be getting them from somewhere else.

I was expecting more for some reason, but it really is a great museum. They ended up opening 10 minutes late the day we were there, so there was a line all the way around the corner of the block.

Good experience but too many rooms closed off plus not all shows are included in plus one. Had to purchase extra tix for exhibit that we wanted.
