Pass By: Rijksmuseum, Museumstraat 1, 1071 XX Amsterdam The Netherlands

The Rijksmuseum was founded in The Hague in 1800 and moved to Amsterdam in 1808, where it was first located in the Royal Palace and later in the Trippenhuis. The current main building was designed by Pierre Cuypers and first opened in 1885.On 13 April 2013, after a ten-year renovation which cost € 375 million, the main building was reopened by Queen Beatrix. In 2013 and 2014, it was the most visited museum in the Netherlands with record numbers of 2.2 million and 2.47 million visitors. It is also the largest art museum in the country. Our boats will sail along the Prinsengracht with a view on the Rijksmuseum

The museum has on display 8,000 objects of art and history, from their total collection of 1 million objects from the years 1200–2000, among which are some masterpieces by Rembrandt, Frans Hals, and Johannes Vermeer. The museum also has a small Asian collection, which is on display in the Asian pavilion.

Pass By: The Amstel, Amsterdam The Netherlands

The Amstel is the biggest canal of all, and Amsterdam was founded from this canal which was originally a river. Fisherman builds a "dam" and called is Amsterdam.

Pass By: Seven Bridges View Point, Thorbeckeplein 30, Amsterdam The Netherlands

Since most canals in Amsterdam make a curve, seeing through so many bridges at once is very rare!

Pass By: The Jordaan, Amsterdam The Netherlands

The most common theory on the origin of the name is as a derivation of the French word Jardin, meaning garden: most streets and canals in the Jordaan are named after trees and flowers. Another theory is that the Prinsengracht canal was once nicknamed Jordaan (the Dutch name for the river Jordan) and that the neighborhood beyond the canal came to be called this as well. Our Flagship canal tour will start and end here in the Jordaan.

Pass By: Herengracht, Amsterdam The Netherlands

The three main canals (Herengracht, Prinsengracht, and Keizersgracht), dug in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, form concentric belts around the city, known as the Grachtengordel. Alongside the main canals are 1550 monumental buildings. The 17th-century canal ring area, including the Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht, and Jordaan, were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010, contributing to Amsterdam's fame as the "Venice of the North"

Pass By: Prinsengracht, Amsterdam The Netherlands

Our boats will cruise the Prinsengracht.

Pass By: Munt Tower (Munttoren), Muntplein, Amsterdam The Netherlands

The Munttoren (mint tower) was once part of the Regulierspoort which consisted of a gate with a tower on each side. It was built between 1480 and 1487 as part of the medieval city wall. Back in the 17th century, the tower was used to mint coins.

Pass By: Dutch National Opera & Ballet, Amstel 3, 1011 PN Amsterdam The Netherlands

Dutch National Opera (DNO; formerly De Nederlandse Opera, now De Nationale Opera in Dutch) is a Dutch opera company based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Its present home base is the Dutch National Opera & Ballet housed in the Stopera building, a modern building designed by Cees Dam and Wilhelm Holzbauer which opened in 1986.

Pass By: Magere Brug, Kerkstraat Nieuwe Kerkstraat, Amsterdam The Netherlands

One of Amsterdam’s many bridges is the beautiful Magere Brug, known to English speakers at the Skinny Bridge. This wooden drawbridge was once so narrow that it was hard for two pedestrians to pass each other. To cope with increasing traffic on the Amstel, a wider bridge replaced the narrow original in 1871.

Lovely tour but be careful, there's a lot of young people just there to party. The cheese and wine were good, though I wish the tour guides would have talked more about the history of Dutch cheese. You do get a little bit of the history of Amsterdam, but I think there could be more of a focus on that than the alcohol. If it's rainy, it's hard to see outside the windows on the boat.

The photos on the website are deceptive, and make it appear like the boat is small and only holds a small number of people. However our boat had probably at least 30-45 people on the boat. Felt like a bait and switch with the photos versus the actual boat. Additionally either our boat had technical issues we were not told about, or the tour guide was supposed to be trying to yell throughout the cruise. We were seated towards the back and could only hear every 3rd word if we were lucky, and could hear nothing over the engine most of the time. Cheese was good, wine was fine.

Congrats for an all women crew. they were great Only negative give them a michrophone. Those in the back could not hear Recommend we be told we get one cheese board per couple or single and have them distributed quickly. If it is truly all you can eat and drink, one of your employees should circulate quickly and continuously to pour the wine or beer

The crew were wonderful. Boat ride was average. Beverages and cheese were average. We did learn a lot about Amsterdam. The half open styrofoam containers in the middle just made it very crowded and messy.
