Santa Ana Volcano is considered one of the jewels par excellence of El Salvador, this tour is suitable for nature lovers or adventurers. The walk takes approximately 2 hours to climb and another 2 hours to descend, this can vary according to the physical condition of the people.
On top of the volcano you can see and walk around in one of the best craters worldwide with an emerald green lagoon. This is the opportunity to take great pictures, if you are a photographer lover .

Stop At: Lago de Coatepeque, Santa Ana El Salvador
This impressive Crater lake is amazing, Also is considered one of the 10 most beautiful lakes in the world, its name means in Nahuat language "Cerro de Culebras",

Francis was so sweet and knowledgeable. Eager to answer questions and great communication. The hike itself is beautiful and very rewarding. However, I believe this hike is harder than advertised. As someone who is very active, I still found it pretty difficult, and my wife and I found ourself left behind most of the hike. There were several points where our guide was not within earshot. If you’re an experienced hiker, you’ll have no issue! But if you are newer to hiking and/or traveling alone, it may not be the best experience. The breaks were also pretty short. The trip ended with an excellent restaurant recommendation, where Francis also gave great tips on places to trip or other tours that may be of interest.

Everyone always says they had the best tour guide but Francis has them beat. Twice I cramped up very bad and he went from guide to Doctor mode. Was very well informed about the terrain, different animals an overall was just a great person. The tour is difficult if you aren’t in shape. Its an incline of about 500 meters in terrain thats not flat most of the time. If you’re in moderate shape I recommend it. The view is very nice. The restaurant afterwards has a nice view but its nothing to write home about. Overall recommend.. and if you can ask for Francis you should!

Excellent and worthwhile tour. Gaby is extremely knowlegable and informative about the nature and culture of El Salvador. The volcano and lake offer stunning and unmissable views. The trip was very well organised with no hitches. Thank you for a great insight into what El Salvador has to offer.

This tour was amazing. A moderate hike that is done at the pace of your group and then you’re rewarded with the most fantastic views of the volcano. Francis was our guide and he was very patient and very knowledgeable. We had an incredible time.

Gaby was the best!
Tour was great, Gaby was very patient, very informative and even took really nice pictures of every person in the group. Views were absolutely gorgeous and even if hike could be somewhat difficult for some of us it was all worth it at the end. Everything was great. Would recommend 100%.
