Stop At: Bioluminescent Mosquito Bay, Puerto Mosquito Puerto Rico

This excursion is located on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico. In order to participate in our tour, an overnight stay on Vieques is required. Vieques is a separate island off of the main island of Puerto Rico. You will need to take a plane or ferry from the main island of Puerto Rico to reach Vieques, and you will need to arrange separate ground transportation because you will not be able to bring a rental car on the ferry with you. Because we only offer tours at night so that our clients can experience the glow of the bay, even if you take our earliest tour, you will not be back to our meeting point with enough time to get on a ferry or a plane back to the main island on the same day. Our guides will meet you in Esperanza directly across from Rainbow Realty (278 Calle Flamboyan). Roundtrip from the meeting point, the excursion is 2 hours, time on the bay about 1.5 hours, weather permitting. We provide transportation from the meeting point to the Bio Bay entrance and back.

Duration: 2 hours

Thumbs up, exceeded expectations even though kayak assigned was a little uncomfortable. Really enjoyed seeing fish illuminate.

This was such a fun and unique experience!! Definitely for the more adventurous folks, as it does include a bumpy ride on a small bus, walking through mud, and getting a little wet. Our guide, Lulu, was funny and very informative of everything! Seeing the bio bay made everything worth it, it was so so cool to see. Hard to capture pictures of though, so expect to just enjoy it with your eyes :) The only thing was she told us via message to not worry about bug spray, which made me think it would be provided. It wasn’t, so we definitely got eaten out there. I later found out it’s because the bug spray chemicals on people’s hands can damage the bio in the bay! But that would’ve been nice to know. Otherwise, a really good time and I would love to do it again!! :)

It was an amazing experience. Lulu was really nice and informative. She was very clear on the instructions and what we need to do and where to go. The tour is fairly short, i would recommend taking all your pictures when she is talking because you wont have much time. I did wish we had more free time in the water, it did feel a bit rushed at the end. Overall definitely recommend, great experience.

100 times better than Fahardo tour. It was amazing, the biolumnescent was strong right from the start. Lulu was a great guide and on point. The thing I appreciated the most was my husband and I are on the larger side and they accommodated us and made it work.

This tour was cancelled the day prior to us leaving for vieques. We booked a hotel for the night just to be able to do it. We still decide to go to vieques and just enjoy the beaches. Once we got to the hotel, our host recommended a different biobay tour and they were just able to squeeze us in for the 9pm slot. JAK’s biobay tour was the name of the tour we did eventually take. The biobay was worth the visit, but not with this tour group.

We had a wonderful guide named Lulu and she was really entertaining . The bay was not as bright as I remember it many years ago but it was a great family adventure nonetheless. Our youngest were 5 years old! Thanks Lulu mA love. 😅
