Itinerary
This excursion takes place in Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeirões, one of the most extraordinary places in the northeastern part of the island of São Miguel (+/- 45 minute drive away from the city of Ponta Delgada). Upon arrival, we will proceed with the distribution of your personal equipment and then set off on short walk of ~ 15min to our first stop where we will have our first safety briefing.
We will then continue on a short scramble uphill where we will then stop for our second safety briefing, where we will show you how to rappel before continuing onwards and upwards for another ~10min to the start of the canyon where the fun will begin!
After reaching the top of the canyon you will start the second part of your adventure. You can expect several jumps (between 2 and 7 meters in height), all optional, a natural slide and some abseils (between 5 and 15m in height). We will walk back along our initial path to the starting point.
NOTE:
– The exact itinerary including jumps, abseils and other techniques will depend on local conditions and seasons. The terrain, landscape and flow of the stream normally change throughout the year.

Traveler pickup is offered
The transfer service (pick-up and drop-off) can be booked if available.
Pick-up will be provided at or close to the place of your accommodation. When the activity is over, we will drop you off at the same place.
Consider pick-up and drop-off for the city of Ponta Delgada. Approximate pick-up times:
– Low season (November – March) – between 8:30 and 8:50 a.m.
– High season (April – October) – between 8:00 and 8:20 a.m.

You don’t need to know how to swim, just be comfortable in the water.

We had a great time! There is a little bit of an uphill hike which was probably the most “rigorous” part of the trek for us. We had a blast with the cliff jumping, zip line, and rappelling. Our guides Bruno and Joao did a great job of joking with the group while also ensuring safety and fun for all. We had a great time and would absolutely do another activity with them when we’re back! They also did a great job of documenting the experience for us and sending pictures and videos so we could just focus on being in the moment. Cant recommend them enough!

The location is gorgeous and our guides (Bruno, Daniela, and Henrique) were fantastic - experienced, safety-focused, encouraging, supportive, and fun! Jumping from a height into water has always scared me but with the support of the guides and the rest of the participants I was able to do it twice! I have never been rappelling before and I loved it - can't wait to do more of it.

One of the best tours we have ever taken Bruno , Diego , and Teresa were the best professional, kind, helpful and patient a few hours sliding down canyons going through waterfalls and repelling was tremendous fun

Exciting tour, great guides ... a fantastic experience.
The pick-up location was just few steps away from the cruise terminal in Ponta Delgarda.
The guides did a fantastic job and told us a few things about the island and its inhabitants during the drive to the waterfall.

This was an amazing experience, perfect to be in contact with nature, to have fun and to dive in the natural springs and waterfalls.

Had SO much fun on this tour! First off, the location is absolutely stunning. Our guides were so kind, funny, and always made sure we were safe. Great variety of repelling, zip lining, cliff jumping, and sliding. For those who were uncomfortable with any of the activities, the guides (and group) were always encouraging no matter what. Also, bonus, you get free photos/videos with your ticket purchase.
