Stop At: Heart Creek Trail Head, 105, New exit from Highway 1 to New Roundabout, Bighorn No. 8, AB T0L 2C0, Canada

After meeting your guides and other participants at the staging area in the Heart Creek Trail parking lot, a 30 - 45 min hike will bring you to the top of both the Canyon sections, and the start of your canyon adventure. Everyone suits up and in order to ensure safety your guides will go thru a mandatory rappel and rope safety clinic. There are a total of 5 rappels, interspersed with some scrambling and hiking. The upper canyon is the easier section and can be dry later on in the summer. This gives everyone the opportunity to ease into the rappelling. The last rappel on the lower canyon section is always wet (it can be considered optional it is not required to exit the canyon, a hike around is available).

For a beginner course this was high thrill! So glad we got to have this once in a lifetime experience. Our tour guide, Kris, also helped us decide other memorable hikes, food, and Canadian desserts! So glad we went here :)

The view from within the canyons are unmatched, and the entire experience really makes you feel one with nature. The hike up to the canyons for the half day is steep at the end but doable. The guides made us feel super safe, especially as newbie canyoners, and were very motivating for some of the more difficult parts. Marc and his crew (Pablo and Kris) are absolutely amazing at what they do and made it an unforgettable day!

We had a great time on our canyoning trip with Chris! He was very helpful and patient with us. It was just our family of 4 and the weather was perfect. The hike in to the canyon was a little more than we bargained for but we made it fine (it was a breeze for our twenty something daughters of course). The wet suits were much appreciated as the temperature dropped as you got higher up in the canyon and the water was VERY cold. We all had hiking boots on which was helpful but be prepared for them to be soaked as you will be landing/sliding in to waist deep water. Definitely a fun bucket list activity!

We had a great time canyoning at heart creek! Our guide, Pablo, was absolutely fantastic. He gave us really clear instructions and guidance and told us so much about the trails/canyon around us throughout the day. The canyoning was great fun and varied and we had the opportunity to practice away from the canyons before starting, which was super helpful. The views and surrounding area are also wonderful! If you are in Canmore/nearby, definitely consider canyoning! We had never done canyoning before this activity. Would definitely go again!

Zach was a wonderful guide and we really enjoyed our experience. The area and canyon were beautiful and the rappelling down the waterfall is a highlight of our trip

This was an absolute highlight! Pablo is not only a super friendly and patient guide, but he also gave us an enormous amount of knowledge about the surrounding nature and his experiences. And of course the rappelling and sliding down was great fun!

We knew very little about canyoneering going in. The guide was awesome and helped us through every repel including an amazing waterfall. We were able to take all the time we needed and we always felt safe. Best day ever!

It was a fun adventure. Never rappelled before. I really enjoyed it. The hike in is steep in a few places. But you gotta go up so you can rappel down. Zack was awesome and shared so much knowledge with us. Definitely would recommend

Loved it! My wife and I had only repelled once before (10+ yrs ago) and were nervous/excited to do it again. Our guide, Alex, was a terrific teacher. He put us at ease with his fun but professional approach to each increasingly difficult reppeling height. Needless to say, the views were great, and our last (and tallest) descent was beside a waterfall and simply unforgettable! Go for it, you wont regret it!
