Itinerary
After a short briefing for the presentation and distribution of the material. Soon after, we begin a nature walk of about 35 minutes, through pastures and local fauna, to the river, where we will have a new briefing, of a technical nature, and we begin our descent, from one of the most exclusive and unique rivers of this region.
Along this descent of approximately 1 km, we will make seven waterfalls, with a combination of abseiling techniques and several jumps, in a mix of adrenaline and fun.
The longest jump will be 8 meters (approximately) and the longest rappel will be 18 meters (approximately), with the possibility of jumping through the waterfall at the base of 6 meters.
On the way back to the cars, we take a last walk through huge Cryptomerias and endemics abundant in this area, for about 20 minutes.

I can't express enough how incredible our canyoning experience tour was in the Azores! It was hands down the highlight of our entire trip, and my son couldn't contain his excitement throughout the entire adventure.
From the moment we met our guide João and Rodrigo, it was clear that we were in for a fantastic time. Their professionalism and expertise immediately put us at ease. Safety was their top priority, and they took the time to explain all the necessary precautions and equipment. As a parent, this was extremely reassuring.
But it wasn't just about safety – our guide's passion for canyoning was infectious, and their sense of humor added an extra layer of enjoyment. They managed to strike the perfect balance between keeping us safe and entertained. It was evident that they had extensive experience and knew the ins and outs of the activity.
The canyoning itself was an absolute blast! The Azores provided a stunning backdrop for our adventure, with breathtaking views and crystal-clear waters. The variety of challenges in the canyons kept us engaged and excited. From rappelling down waterfalls to navigating through narrow passages, every moment was an adrenaline rush.
What truly stood out was our guide's patience. They made sure that everyone in the group felt comfortable and confident, regardless of their skill level. No question was too silly, and they were always ready to offer assistance or guidance when needed.
As a parent, seeing my son's face light up with joy at every twist and turn was priceless. The memories we created during this canyoning tour will stay with us forever.

It was wonderful from start to finish! Jaoa the guide collected me from my hotel and made me feel safe and welcome from the first moment. When we began the activity, Jaoa had the perfect combination of humour and focus on safety, making me feel in great hands. The activity itself could be quite physically demanding at times, as you climb the steep canyon paths, which can be slippery (so definitely consider your fitness levels before beginning). At each jump, traverse or slide we were given an ‘opt out’ version and while everyone encouraged each other, no one was pressured to do anything they weren’t comfortable with. I would highly recommend canyoning and especially Splash Azores (and Jaoa and his assistant) to anyone looking for a bit of adventure on their holiday to Sao Miguel!!

Our canyoning experience was amazing! Joao is a rockstar - a true canyoning expert. We had a blast while also feeling super safe. 10/10 would recommend!!
