In this two hour workshop, you will learn with our jade carver experts about the ancestral art of designing, cutting and carving your own piece of jade, that you will be able to take with you and show it off as a necklace, bracelet or keychain.
It is a unique experience, where you will learn why jade has been so important to our land and our ancestors, and how it relates to life and love.
Today, Jade can be consider our national gemstone, as we have this beautiful gift from nature.

What an amazing time I had at Casa del Jade. Carmen was la mejor maestra and I learned so much. Cutting and refining the jade was such a great learning experience and along with plenty of laughs and friendly chats. I love my necklace and highly recommend this activity to anyone interested in learning more about jade and the process of creating beautiful jewelry. Class was approx. 2 hours and I loved every minute of it! Phillip enjoyed his special treatment in class too! Thanks for a great afternoon!

My wife and 14 yr old grandson took the carve you own jade.
They had a wonderful time. The both made fantastic pieces of jewelry.
The staff were super helpful, assisting as needed.
They also have a very good museum, and a jewelry store.
When in Antigua make sure you stop Casa del Jade.

A great tour of a Jade Museum, Jewelry sales, and a jade jewelry making class. The museum covered the history of jade, the types of jade, historical use of jade.
The jewelry store had a beautiful selection of jewelry, from modest to high priced. We never fail to buy beautiful items from Casa Del Jade on our trips to Antigua.
This is the first time that my wife and grandson took the jade jewelry making class. The staff was professional, friendly, and helpful. They will help you as much as you need to create a beautiful keepsake. This was one of the highlights of the trip.

This was a great experience. My wife and I and our two children (6 and 9) did this workshop. Carmencita was a very helpful and friendly instructor. She was patient and kind with our kids and helped them create a piece they could be proud of. Everyone had a great time, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Carmencita is a wonderful teacher, speaks great English, and did a great job of helping me to make a really cool item and having a blast doing it. The shop and museum are wonderful, but the carving experience is definitely the best part.

Upon arrival, we were greeted and quickly escorted to the museum part of the shop where we got a lot of interesting information about jade and it's uses in Guatemala, including the history behind more recent colors that have been extracted. After a brief wait, we went to the workshop where we met Carmen who was very high energy and bubbly! Everyone working at the museum and shop were very friendly and welcoming. However, we felt somewhat rushed through the selection process of our pieces and ultimately discovered that personalized carvings were not included in this experience. This felt different than the advertisement that caught our eye initially of the man personalizing his carved jade piece with a dremel. While you can request personalization, that is an additional fee and done outside of the workshop by a professional jade carver.
While we worked, other groups began their workshop at alternate time intervals which made the experience in the small space somewhat chaotic, in addition to only having one guide for all of us.
Nevertheless, we worked our way through the steps and ended up with two pieces we each really like.
Overall, it was a good experience but we didn't feel it was what as advertised or quite what we expected.

We had a terrific workshop with Carmencita and she was amazing with kids (both teenagers and a 5 year old!) the workshop was fun and educational (and not as easy as we thought) and kids loved their pieces. Great experience! Plan about two hours + a visit to the small museum on site. Highly recommended
