Supposedly every 15 minutes. The bus dropped us off at the summer museum and never came back. Waited 1hr 15 minutes for a bus to arrive. Eventually had to get a taxi back to the ship. Terrible service I have never been abandoned by a bus company before. Avoid them as they are unreliable.

Left us stranded at top of Askla viewpoint in the rain and wind. When "bus that will be here in 20 minutes" finally arrived after 40 minutes, no one got off, so no seats! What a joke. Don't waste your time or money. They lie about their times for busses.

This is a great way to see this small area and to travel to/from the overlooks. We arrived on a cruise ship and did not want to spend a lot of money on a land tour this day. So, we took the local HOHO bus instead, and it was a great option on our own. Much cheaper and just as good!

Got on first bus and there was scuffed thick plastic upstairs instead of windows. Couldn’t see out of it very well, certainly no point taking photos through it. Not quite the idea of ‘sightseeing’. Queried this and was informed 3 buses were running that day, of which only one had glass windows upstairs. The second had plastic but at least it wasn’t scuffed. Luckily the third bus we got on had glass windows. Commentary itself was interesting. Convenient pick up and drop off at cruise port.

Overall the Alesund City Sightseeing HOHO bus was a good deal and I would book it again. Note that if you are getting on at the cruise terminal, you need to go to the kiosk BEFORE you go to the bus to get the paper QR code receipt. Also, the City Sightseeing bus stop is to the left of the cruise terminal. The very similar, but not the same bus for Alesund Sightseeing is to the right. The bus went to the the lookout point and had various other stops that I appreciated, including the shopping area and the Alesund church. The intervals between buses were a little long but worked out okay. I gave up on the narration, it was very hard to hear. Buses were reasonably clean and were driven safely.

We caught the bus to the Aksla viewpoint, took all of our photos and another bus hadn’t arrived so walked down the mountain, waited at the next bus stop, still no bus so shopped a bit and walked back to the cruise terminal. After lunch we walked back into town, then out to the church, didn’t ever see a bus driving around in the distance! So we paid 810 krone for a 15 min drive up the mountain, I wouldn’t recommend this, the buses seem to disappear after the initial tour

Easy to purchase tickets online or at kiosk. Friendly helpful staff. Value for money was good, you could pick up headphones on the bus and listen to the tour in numerous languages. Views are absolutely breathtaking, and you can see for miles. Stunning panoramic views and opportunity to get off and take pictures.
Only downside is if you are scared of heights, and narrow hair pin roads, and the occasional shear drop. I for one had my eyes shut most of the time as petrified of that sort of thing, but hubby absolutely loved it and would happily do it again.

Waste of money. As others have said Alesund is not that big, so all sights on these buses are within walking distance. Once you hop off may be difficult to.hop back on as buses are infrequent.
Also be aware of their refund promise. We were promised a refund for 2 unused tickets (we had pre-booked) still waiting for the refund. Don't use them!

A great way to see the highlights of Alesund. The provided audio tape was clear and easy to understand. Driver was helpful for those with mobility issues. We boarded at the pier and chose to not hop off. There are two different hop on services. Not sure which we picked. When done, tho Molo Brew serves good food and an assortment of brews.

We were sold our tickets with the impression we could hop on and off any red hop on bus but this is not the case! We wasted 40 mins at a bus stop that we had no idea if it was the right bus stop as there are no signs, when a bus turned up we weren’t allowed on, prior to this we were denied access to another bus. This is a waste of money don’t do it unless you want to get on the bus for 70 mins and stay on it !
