Would not recommend. I have used hop on buses worldwide and always find them to be a good way to get around whilst giving information about the local area, not this one! It was nearly impossible to find out on the website when they operate, no clear times or eve dates. I did find on the website that it starts at 10am, so on a very cold and snowy morning, my daughter and I walked to stop 1 to be told that it actually starts at 1030, so after 40 mins wait in the cold, we boarded the bus. the commentary was not working, other people had the same issue, we tried different languages and changing the volume but nothing, I asked the very grumpy driver and he pressed a button above him and said it was working, it was not! We got off at the folkmuseem and were disappointed when we got back on that we had the same driver, again no commentary. We stayed on back to stop 1 where we asked the woman who sold us tickets about the commentary, she boarded the bus and asked the driver, he told her it was on and she checked and it was not, she got him to drive a little way and then he turned it on. I wanted the commentary, otherwise we would have walked or used a regular bus so for the price we paid, it was not at all good value. The bus stopped for 20 mins at the cruise terminal, and it was so cold sat on the bus waiting. The last bus left the stop 1 at 15.45 so overall it was not good value. I would not waste money using this again. Most places are walkable and if not, public bus/tram services are excellent in Oslo.

Convenient way to visit city highlights especially Vigeland sculptures. But didn’t understand long wait at cruise boat dock. Also didn’t like being dropped off in the back of the fort. Pretty drive but narrow roads through neighborhood, felt bad for residents having numerous double decker buses squeezing through their quaint roads. Especially when two buses in front of us sideswiped each other, blocking up traffic. Language choice dials on headphone jacks weren’t working well on top of one bus. Tried a few

After using this company several times in the UK and abroad I had no hesitation in using it again on our recent trip to Oslo. How wrong I was. Considering the first bus is at 10am and run every 30 minutes we expected there to be one at 10.30, we arrived at stop 1 at 10.25. No bus came then, nor at 11.00, nor at 11.30. By this point we walked a little down the road and paid a further £100+ to use the Hop on As. By the time their bus left at 12noon there was still no sign of any 'official' bus or even a booth. Got no joy at all with customer service, was told that as far as they were aware they were running to schedule and to check the interactive map. I did. They even had the cheek to ask if I was stood at the right stop. The end of the conversation involved me being told to email them and to 'have a good one'. Got home from Oslo and have emailed the company requesting a refund as we never even used the tickets. Now waiting for a response but I'm not losing £84 for a service that we did not use. My advice, never prebook, wait until you see the seller and go online and book then.

Not much to see from the bus. Best to use as transport. Commentary isn't as good as other cities. Stops are not very frequent. Not great for rai y days. Rain blows on you getting you wet and lower level, if room, has window covering gs making views obstructed.

We booked this experience for six persons for two days on our recent trip to Oslo as we have found it an excellent method to travel around other cites we have visited. However, this time we were disappointed. While the bus stops at all the expected locations to allow the ‘hop on hop off’ aspect, it stopped for 30 minutes at the cruise terminal. We were never informed about this fact when we initially asked how long the tour would take (approx 75 minutes as advertised) and the driver never announced this either, we were just left sitting there. We found the driver dismissive in his response when we queried the delay and he responded saying, “that’s this company”. To further exacerbate the situation, the driver then stopped for a coffee at the Ferry Terminal! When we arrived back to the last/ first stop almost 2 hours later, we further queried the delay with another staff member and we were given the impression that this shouldn’t have occurred and we were advised to email the company. Unfortunately, we feel he did not speak the truth as other members of our party had a similar experience on different journeys. Surely this company could do better and provide better customer service.

If I had done my research, I wouldn’t have used the bus because we were fully capable of walking everywhere except to see the Fram, Kon Tiki and Nordic museums, which are located together. We used the bus to get there and back and easily walked everywhere else. We found out from friends that we could have walked the couple of blocks to the waterfront and just hopped on a water taxi to take us across the bay to see the the exhibits mentioned above. I couldn’t understand and hear the narrated tape on the head set on the bus because of all of the background noise. So would I recommend it, no, unless you just need a ride from place to place.

This was a big waste of money!! No punctuality and very late at pick up spots. The audio was very limited and poor quality. The biggest issue was lack of space and no guaranteed seats. We caught the FIRST bus at the FIRST stop and it was already full with people they had already picked up at a cruise ship. On some sections we did not have a seat (and then, ofcourse, no audio) Give it a miss and catch a public bus !!!

Don’t buy tickets from this company ⚠️ We are extremely disappointed with the service provided by City Sightseeing Oslo, which we paid 990NKR. Our experience has been far from satisfactory. To our dismay, the bus did not arrive for our sightseeing tour. We were forced to take a taxi to visit the places of interest, incurring additional costs that we hadn't planned for. This situation has left us feeling cheated and frustrated. When we approached the ticket seller regarding the lack of service, he not only failed to provide assistance but also declined our request for a refund. It is disheartening to note that this issue seems to be affecting several other customers on short stays in the city as well. This level of poor service and lack of accountability is unacceptable.

Normally I like hop on hop off busses. This was not one of those times. The bus was way too hot with no ventilation. Narration only worked intermittently and did not always correspond with the map.

Loved Vigeland, but we had to rush it a bit to get back on the bus to head onward, as we couldn't be sure to pick up another bus in time for our boat trip- got there just in the nick of time.
