We really enjoyed the 2.5 hour tour of the Cloud Forest. Our guide Dom was personable and knowledgeable. We learned about the site, what a cloud forest was and interesting info about the various trees. The paths are root covered, up and down, but we went slowly and it was an easy hike. We recommended this tour to other guests at our B&B.

I visited the Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary with my family, one of who is mentally disabled, and everyone enjoyed their time at the Sanctuary. It’s absolutely amazing what they have accomplished and how big and beautiful the forest is. The only critique is that I wish we had more time to walk about the Sanctuary, but we did the hour and a half session (and time flew by!) so maybe the two and a half hour session does that. I recommend this activity!

My visit to Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary was a pleasant, relaxing, and unique experience! Diane is very passionate and knowledgeable about preserving the only cloud forest in the national and teaching about how it benefits the Big Island. I love the fact that this sanctuary has been passed down through 4 generations. The deep lush cloud forest was filled with amazing vegetation that is so different than the rainforest. We saw many different things like, turkey tail mushrooms, massive tree trunks that look like a rainbow, and all types of banyan trees to many, many other unique plants that I have never seen or heard of. If you are looking to escape the heat and the busy tourist scene than I highly suggest visiting this hidden gem that will surely relax your inner soul!

This is the first activity we participated after arriving to Kailua -Kona. The tour started promptly at 8. We loved the experience. The cloud forest is a must if you love nature and are interested to learn about efforts to preserve native species and help reforest the island. Our guide was Taryn. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. She made us feel comfortable and made the tour so fun. You can tell she truly loves doing what she does, and she got us excited about everything in the forest. It was a healing experience. This was followed by a sound bath, which was a separate hour long activity with additional fee. We were given foldable mattresses and blankets. Then the guide used guided meditation with breathing, along with different bowls to create a symphony. We liked this for the location in a beautiful gazebo surrounded by rainforest trees and birdsong. But we found it a little expensive and something that can be a one time thing. It was overall relaxing.

I have lived on Big Island for 10 years. I have never experienced anything like the Cloud Forest Sanctuary before. Our tour guide Drew was so informative as well as patient as our large group stopped to take photos and appreciate all the little fine natural details. We got to see and learn about beautiful giant ferns with red fur as well as tons of other unique trees and plants like the Blue Marble tree. Dont even get me started on some of the root systems. There was even a couple of Redwoods which was surprising. "The future largest trees on island". Drew shared lovely stories of his ancestors working the land and his own personal touches making the property so special. You can see with every Twist and Turn of the trail that things were planted with a lot of positive intention. This Cloud forest is the perfect depiction of this tropical land thriving. Thank you again for the beautiful sound bath and the fascinating tour Drew!

The Kona Cloud Forest Guided Tour was such a beautiful event, for both students and attending adults, as we took our second semester field trip there! The kids learned so much, and they will never forget. I am in awe of the beauty that surrounds the Cloud Forest, and that flows from the hearts of the guides, for sharing/teaching. The forest is both breathtakingly beautiful as well as breath-giving lightness and clarity. If you are staying in Kona, Hawaii, or are a kamaaina, don't miss out on this. It is an experience that is a hidden treasure. The 6th and 7th grade students in our group were moved deeply. I don't doubt that our club will visit again in the near future.

We had a lovely guided tour of a portion ofvthe sanctuary, which is extremely beautiful and serene. Our guide was a wealth of positivity, stories, and knowledge about the different plants and creatures that inhabit the sanctuary. A gentle way to end our visit to the big island.

Really didn't know what to expect but ever so glad I went - a jungle walk conducted by Drew, grandson of the founder/developer of this property. Very informative, very slow & pleasant pace - got to experience the range of weather typical to the local Cloud Forests (i.e. blue sky at the 8:30 start of the tour and very light rain when we concluded at about 11am).

Absolutely stunning scenery and tour! Our guide Taryn was so passionate and knowledgeable, it was incredible to learn about the native plants and animals, climate, history, stories of the island. We did the two hour tour with sound bath and what a cleansing experience it was! The sound bath was so relaxing and spiritually energizing! Amazing way to start our short time on the island!
