Stop At: Don Juan Tours La Fortuna, Av. 351, Provincia de Alajuela, San Carlos, Costa Rica

Don Juan Tours Arenal is a family business that through its tours teach visitors the whole process behind two very important products worldwide, Coffee and Chocolate.
Our experience: Don Juan - Coffee and Chocolate Tour, will take you to know the entire Coffee process, from the seed to the delicious cup of coffee.
Once the coffee tour is finished, we will start with the sweetest part of the tour, the delicious chocolate. Like coffee, we will talk about the entire Chocolate process, from the seed to the delicious chocolate bar and we will end up selecting some members of the group to grind the cacao beans and make their own chocolate bar. Once finished you will have the opportunity to taste several types of chocolate such as Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate and White Chocolate.
One of our main features is the infrastructure we have, since the Arenal Area is well known for having a very changing climate, it goes from being very sunny and humid to heavy rains, even with a electric storms on some occasions, that is why that 100% of our trails are protected and made of cement, which will allow to enjoy the tour on sunny or rainy days. Families with children who need to take their stroller or people with some physical limitation will not have trouble walking with a walker, crutches or wheelchair.

Gigi was the very best guide!!! It was so informative and he answered any questions our small group had along the way. We even got to make our own chocolate "bar" to take home! Great way to learn a bit more about the local coffee & chocolate and have some fun!!!

The tour guide was excellent and provided us with a lot of information about the coffee and chocolate making process. It was fun to actually make our own chocolate. It would have been fun to see the actual plantation and see the workers while working. The tour was mostly shown and explained at small stations. Still a fun activity in La Fortuna!

This is a great tour. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and provided us with a tremendous amount of background information. Then, to be able to see the process of coffee and chocolate production from the plant to product, and to be actively involved in it, was truly fun and fascinating. Great tour! A ‘not to miss’ one

We had a good experience with our tour but I was expecting to walk by the chocolate and coffee plants and experience picking them off the tree but we didn’t. We saw some wildlife animals including a sloth. Overall it was good and educational.

An entertaining and very well presented exposition of how chocolate is made, spanning from plant pollination to tasting the chocolate you make yourself. Our guide was accommodating and helpful. The gift shop was a pleasant surprise.

Very informative and I learned a lot. Our tour guide was super sweet and enjoyed her job. Got to make your own chocolate and drink lots of coffee. The tour was in the shade out of the sun and lasted about 2 hours. If you like coffee and chocolate, I would recommend. Use Google maps bc waze will get you lost.
