Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Fisher Towers, UT
The Fisher Towers section of the Colorado River is heavy on scenery, with some fun rapids (depending on the water level/time of year). This is an area where many motion pictures and commercials have been filmed over the years. John Wayne and John Ford filmed a lot of old westerns in this area. Most recently filmed in this area was The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp & Armie Hammer (2013).
For this tour you will need to meet at our office (unless a hotel/campground pick up has been arranged). At 378 North Main St. (right next door to the Comfort Suites). From out office we will transport you up Hwy 128 (Top 10 most scenic highways in America) to Rocky Rapid (about mile 17). This will take 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic and other circumstances. Once at Rocky Rapid, your guide will go over some river safety instructions, once everything has been covered you will board the raft. Unless you have requested a paddle boat, your guide will be doing all the rowing, so you get to sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery. As you make your way down the river to Take-Out Beach, and your departure point for the Afternoon Half Day tour, your guide will provide you with archeology, geology, and river history. Your guide will also point out various land marks and answer any questions you may have on your journey. Once the raft reaches the take out point at Take-Out Beach, you will disembark from the raft. The guides will then need to load the boats and equipment back up on the trailer, then you will be able to load back up on our shuttle vehicle, and we will bring you back to our office in Moab, concluding your adventure. The drive back from Take-Out Beach could take 30 or more minutes.
This is a calm water trip, with small rapids, class 1 & 2. Depending on water levels there is the chance for a class 3 rapid on this section. The rafts are set up where the guide will be doing all the rowing. Paddle boats (where everyone paddles) are an option upon request (24 hour advance notice required).

We had an awesome time on the “daily” Colorado River tour with Claire our guide. She was so knowledgeable about the Colorado river, the landscape, and the surrounding area. We’ll be back again in 2024 with Adrift!

A relaxing float down a beautiful stretch of the river, this trip is magnificent. It was also very enlightening and fun! Our raft guide, Turner, was full of energy and delightful. He told us all kinds of things in such an interesting way it felt like we were on a fascinating field trip.

Our Guide Claire was the best: she was paddling against the hot thermal wind all by herself (passengers do not have paddles on these boats, just the guide). We recommend this trip to people who want to enjoy the scenery of the steep canyon walls and take a refreshing swim in the Colorado river. The river current in this area is very calm, no dangerous passages, really a relaxing exursion on the river (basic grade of river raft, no previous experience needed). Many thanks!

Our decision to do this tour was to be able to see more than we could see if we hiked. We took the half-day river rafting in the afternoon with Clair as our phenomenal guide. She handles the raft with all of us in it as if it is nothing. She is young energetic and really knows the water. I was concerned about our lunch stop on the river and all the dirty hands touching the food but... the guides all used hand sanitizer and then put on gloves and served the food. There was plenty even for me who doesn't eat meat. It was a very hot day and being in the river was really fun and cool. Our Phones were kept secure and dry. I do recommend using a dry pouch so when you want to take a picture you are not risking your phone getting wet. I bought ours for $2.99 at Walmart.
This time I also did a half-day jeep tour but the choice was not here for me to pick. Adam was our Jeep driver and so knowledgeable about Geology. His driving was fabulous.
I have already recommended Adrift to others and would use them again but for all-day rafting and then another whole day in the jeep.

The guides were so nice!!! Very knowledgeable and I felt safe with them.
The kids had a blast and we saw so much wildlife, a bald eagle family, Blue Herron, and mountain goats.
The lunch was perfect and they have us cold water the whole trip!

We had such an amazing time on our raft trip. Our guide Tim was the best! He made the experience so enjoyable and was very knowledgeable about the area. It was our favorite activity we did while visiting Moab. We had 4 kids ranging from 15-5 on the raft and they all loved it.

We couldn’t of asked for nicer weather. The river was running high and fast and our guide Claire was very good at paddling us down the rapids. There was 13 of our family on two rafts. Took a lot of pictures and had a very enjoyable experience.
