Incredible tour. Julio tied the history of Comuna 13 to the revitalization by the community seamlessly. The tour being lead by a local gave the group a completely different and more full understanding of the neighborhoods. I highly recommend (and ask for Julio!)

Nice tour of Comuna 13 where you will learn a lot about the history of the place. Guide will take you through the neighborhood on foot so be at least in a decent shape. You will see break dance show, see graffiti and listen to improv rap number. Some food is included in the tour, street snacks in the middle of it and ice cream and dessert almost at the end. This is also a good place to buy some souvenirs and support local community by doing so (which I always prefer instead of shopping in the malls or big chain shops). There is a gallery that you visit during the tour which I recommend for souvenirs that include local original art printed on t-shirts and on canvas as well. Guide (Alex) was a nice young guy that told us all about the history of the communa and hardships people there endured. There are also a lot of cheap restaurants with local quisine where you can eat after the tour.
