Discover Sydney’s colorful convict history with Sydney Harbour Tall Ships and take in the sites of Sydney Harbour aboard a traditional vessel. Travel to Goat Island, where you'll learn about Australia's convict history on a guided walking tour before returning to the vessel for lunch and a 1.5 hour cruise on Sydney Harbour.

Stop At: Goat Island, Sydney, New South Wales Australia

Experience a Historic Tour of Goat Island and see the sights where the first convicts lived in the past. Goat Island, which has restricted, limited access, is the largest of the islands in Sydney Harbour. Over the years, Goat Island has served as a quarry, convict stockade, explosives store, police station and fire station. Today the island forms part of the Sydney Harbour National Park.

On a 1-mile (1.5-km) guided walking tour, learn about Goat Island’s colorful past and visit some of Australia's most important and intact convict-built structures. Take in the historic surroundings, and visit the early-1800s military gun-powder magazine, the soldiers’ barracks complex and Sydney’s oldest water police station. You’ll learn what convict life was like on Goat Island, from their punishments to their cramped sleeping quarters and food.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Sydney Harbour, Sydney, New South Wales Australia

After your guided walking tour receive a complimentary drink before re-boarding the ferry. Then it’s time to relax and enjoy a cold buffet feast with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine! As you eat, enjoy the surrounding views of Sydney Harbour before returning back to Campbell's Cove.

A very relaxing and enjoyable trip. The guided walk on Goat island was very interesting. Our guide was very pleasant and informative. Great cruising the harbour with lunch and champagne. Would probably of liked a bit less time on the island and a bit longer on the ship. Overall great day out 😎

We did the Convicts, Castles & Champagne Tour with Sydney Harbour Tallships; and, the experience was fantastic. Our satisfaction was made possible due the professionalism and promptness of the crew. We left on time; the crew was COVID conscious; the Goat Island tour was informative; we were fed well; the staff are all friendly & helpful; and overall, a great way to see & enjoy the Sydney Harbour. Highly recommended.

This trip exceeded our expectations sailing round Sydney Harbour in a 100 year old wooden sailing vessel hearing about its history from the Captain and talking to the crew who are either volunteers or doing work experience. The visit to Goat Island with our tour guide Esther who had a great sense of humour and was very knowledgeable made for an excellent tour which we found to be really interesting and informative.

The actual crew and trip itself was good but the booking via buy a gift was not a good experience and the people handling the booking and their website needs an overhaul. Whilst there was a good bit of history - the way it was delivered by the guide was not so good and I felt he did not really have a good grasp of his subject or was properly prepared - sense of him winging it. Had far better elsewhere. And not sure how the castles got into the title of the tour. No castles were mentioned.
