We are extremely disappointed as we still haven't recieved our photos for 10 months! We enjoyed the experience itself and it was magical to swim with the turtles. However we went in July 2023 and still haven't received the promised photography that we were meant to get after 21 days! We paid a lot more than the other tour companys for the photography and small group experience, and now we regret it.
I have tried to contact Charlotte Piho and the Cook Islands Turtle tour company via email but no response, and I cannot contact the phone number from New Zealand as it is a Rarotongan number. Overall very bad experience as we paid a lot more for the photography and have been ripped off.

We had a fantastic time.
Saw heaps of turtles.
The staff were great and knowledgeable.
We felt safe at all times.
Given that it was a small group, it felt a lot more personal and more opportunities to spot the turtles as the guys knew where to find them.
Thanks for an awesome experience!

We had a fantastic turtle experience and loved being able to see so many turtles on this trip. Both of our guides were extremely friendly and helpful on the snorkeling tour. We had the opportunity to see many turtles and to have photos taken. While we didn't manage to see eagle rays, the time spent with the turtles and other marine life was worth every moment. Going with a group of only 7 was fantastic as some of the other operators that were there had very large groups. The turtle area did become very crowded toward the end, with other operators bringing in big groups and also one guide being abusive if you got near their photographer. Thankfully our guides were absolutely awesome and were perfect hosts!!

Tex and Tai did a great job guiding and photographing a 50s-something couple in a light choppy breeze for a wonderful snorkel swim with the turtles. One of us was a complete novice and really appreciated Tex's assistance, help and advice with the snorkelling gear. Ty is young but an accomplished u dewatering photographer. Although we didn't dive down far below the surface he got some great shots of us with the turtles, which seemed quite happy to swim up to us.
Ty sent lower res pics through Apple Air Drop so we had photos to enjoy ahead of the higher resolution images being emailed to us.
Highly recommended and a highlight of our trip.

It was magical swimming with the Turtles, amazing experience and the guides that took us were brilliant. Having a small group made it special. Would definitely recommend , it's a must do when in Rarotonga.

Tour was actually in September 2022. Finally got photos in December 2023. Dealt with Charlotte herself and she was lovely to deal with.

We were well taken care of by our guide, lovely personality. We were given fantastic equipment and taken safely though the passage to the deeper coral reef, So much beauty, in the awe of the abundance of marine life and vibrancy underwater. Great visibility too. It's the most incredible snorkelling experience I have had. Our tour guide was in tune with the waters in his local region. I feel very lucky to have experienced this- especially with the guidance and blessing. Yes we saw turtles swimming & sleeping, the eagles rays gliding. I didn't want to end. It's worth doing this while visiting Raro, a few times would be even better to familiarise yourself with the current, the areas around turtle rock.

Was an amazing experience. Was very well organized and great that my 7yo daughter had her own instructor to look after her, giving me the chance to enjoy the snorkeling and experience without worrying about my child. Looking forward to seeing the photos.

Highly recommend Papa Turtles Tours. We swam with beautiful turtles who did not seem to be stressed by the presence of our small group. Papa Turtle is extremely knowledgeable, genuine and patient and we felt very safe with him and his crew. The other sea life, including rays, were a bonus. FYI our children are aged 12 and 15.
