Our tour with John Todd to Cork, Blarney Castle, and Cobh was an absolute delight from start to finish. John’s expertise and passion for the region shone through, enriching every moment of our adventure. From the moment we boarded the comfortable train, John’s warm welcome and engaging commentary set the tone for the day. His deep knowledge of the area’s history, culture, and hidden gems added depth to our experience, making each stop more meaningful. At Cork, we wandered through charming English market. The visit to Blarney Castle was a highlight, where John regaled us with fascinating tales of the castle’s storied past and ensured we didn’t miss the chance to kiss the famous Blarney Stone. Cobh’s picturesque harbor captivated us, and John’s insights into its maritime heritage and poignant history left a lasting impression. We loved the Cobh heritage centre where we discovered more about the Irish famine and the Titanic. Throughout the tour, John’s professionalism, humor, and genuine care for his guests were evident. He went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt welcomed and included, creating a sense of camaraderie among fellow travelers. Overall, our day with John Todd was nothing short of exceptional. His passion for his homeland, coupled with his expertise as a guide, made our journey through Cork, Blarney Castle, and Cobh truly unforgettable. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough – it’s a must-do for anyone looking to explore the beauty and history of Ireland with a knowledgeable and personable guide like John. Earl Carien

My wife booked a one day trip from Dublin down to Cork and Blarney Castle and Cobh.. Make sure you pay attention that you need to be booked by 1700 local time for the next day. We missed that by about 30 minutes and ended up going the following day... and let me tell you, it was worth the wait for an additional day.. Our guide was John Todd and let me tell you, he was an amazing guide. Now we did have a smaller group, which I think made it even better. He had time to take pics of my wife and I at the different destinations, and he went out of his way to make sure that our group was well taken care of and explained more than he probably needed to, but he was enthusiastic about it. The trip home on the train flew by quick, as him and I talked about Irish History beyond what the sites were that we saw. If we had more time we would love to take a 3 day or 4 day trip with them... (**note** after talking to some of the other people on the tour, make sure you take the tram or walk to the station.. the cab fares are way to high for the short distance it takes to get there)... the tram system is really easy and it can get you all over Dublin quickly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Blarney Castle. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. You do not really see Cork other than a quick peek out of the bus window. We skipped the line to kiss the Blarney Stone and explored the grounds instead. Cobh is nice, very beautiful cathedral... but we had visited it the day before. We didn't find the historical museum very worthwhile, a bit disorganized and lots of hyperactive students there when we visited.

Lacking in organization! We got onto the wrong car on our train, wasn’t notified to get off (luckily we noticed others getting off) and were just overall underwhelmed! Also, our tour guide didn’t seem to like Americans and continued to spout false information about our laws and regulations. It was annoying especially since 90% of the tourists on our trip were Americans.

The Blarney Castle and Gardens were beautiful. We would have rather been able to go to the waterfront village area of Cobh instead of the Heritage Center and cemetery. The cathedral was very dramatic in a beautiful setting. The bus and train were nice. Overall an enjoyable day, but not as thrilling as the other day trips we took during our visit.

Great day doing this tour and Peter was a great host. John our bus driver in Cork was great too. Would recommend these tours to anybody to do. Plenty of time at all the stops. Having reserved carriages on train is really nice.
