This was fun for a couple's date. The murder mystery is not related to Stillwater, but the app incentivizes you to actually go to the locations for the score you get at the end. But technically, you don't need to go to the locations to solve the mystery and I'd say the difficulty level is beginner adult friendly (not for kids). So if you're wanting local flair with the story or a big challenge, this experience doesn't give you that. The voice acting is over-the-top sometimes, but we laughed and didn't take it too seriously. It gave us an excuse to do something different and have lunch and wonder around Stillwater though, so we still had fun.

Getting started on the Hearo app is not intuitive (email instructions from GetYourGuide were just flat out wrong). So here's some tips: in Step 1, choose "Detective You" and then "Episode 1 - Motive for Murder" and then choose your location to get the code.
Then from Step 2, the navigation runs pretty smoothly.
If you struggle, make sure to call the number listed in the app, the number listed on this page is wrong.

Half of the family was into the mystery and the others were not. We enjoyed the “tour” of Stillwater just the same while solving the murder!
