Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Rome, Rome, Lazio
Meet your tour leader and small group in central Rome and hop aboard a private, air-conditioned minibus—the most comfortable way to navigate the jaw-dropping drive that awaits us.
Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes
Stop At: Pompeii Archaeological Park, Porta Marina (via Villa dei Misteri), 80045 Pompeii Italy
Wander the fully preserved streets of Pompeii on a guided tour. This thriving port town was frozen in time when it was engulfed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. View the death casts of people caught in the eruption and peek into shops, temples, public baths, and maybe even a brothel (if suitable for the group).
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
Stop At: Amalfi Coast, Amalfi Coast, Province of Salerno, Campania
After Pompeii, it’s back onto the minibus for one of the most unforgettable drives of your life down the hairpin turns and panoramic vistas of the Amalfi coast. It won’t take long for you to see why this is considered Italy’s most scenic drive (although certainly not the easiest to navigate—you’ll be glad you have a professional driver!).
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Positano, Positano, Amalfi Coast, Province of Salerno, Campania
Following in the footsteps of literary greats like Shelley, Goethe and Steinbeck, you’ll be free to explore this little town on foot, sampling its incredible seafood, browsing the fashionable boutiques, or ordering bespoke, handmade sandals.
Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
Stop At: Rome, Rome, Lazio
After a full day of exploring two of southern Italy’s greatest gems, you’ll head back onto the bus for a comfortable journey back to Rome.
Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes

It's a long trip to Rome and back in a day but this tour was absolutely worth it. Positiano was perfect and we had a good amount of free time to explore and have lunch there. Our guide at Pompeii was incredibly knowledgeable and added so much to the tour.

Enjoyed every bit. Favorite part is the tour in Pompeii, it was fun and informative.
Brace yourself for the long bus travels though, once you reach the destination, it is amazing.

Seeing Pompeii and it's history for real and then relaxing in Positano and enjoying the scenery.
Long journey but thanks to Cosimo and the extra information he shared with us, it didn't seem like it.

Initially, I was hesitant about booking this trip. Boy, am I glad that I moved forward with the booking. I was concerned about the long drive, but actually the drive was not bad at all. The stops were perfectly planned. Positano was absolutely beautiful. We had about 2.5 hours in Positano. Enough time to take photos, have lunch, and a pair of sandals made. Then it was off to Pompeii. I think we spent about 2 hours in Pompeii. It was the perfect day trip from Rome and a good opportunity to see other parts of Italy. The following is an approximate break down of our itinerary:
7:30am- loaded buses an on our way (I slept most of the way on the bus)
9:30am- break and bathroom stop (we were able to grab snacks and use the restroom)
9:50am- back on the road to Positano
11:50am- Arrived in Positano
2:15pm- Departed Positano
3:15pm- Arrived in Pompeii
5:15pm- Departed Pompeii
6:30pm- break and bathroom stop (free wine and limencello tasting at break stop)
6:50pm- back on the road
8:15pm- arrived back in Rome

We really enjoyed our guide, John Paul. He was excellent and explained so much about the areas we visited. We had a great tour of Pompeii, then along the Amalfi Coast, with the breathtaking views. We finally spent a few hours in Positano, and know why it is so visited. He gave us many suggestions of where to go, and what to look for.

Cossimo was an excellent guide. Traffic was a mess with lots of hard acceleration and slam on brakes. Positano was amazing (be careful of car sickness with twists & turn getting in there on coast) & Pompeii was soo much more. Bathroom break at Monte casino was great place, very basic shop not in good shape, but has all it needs.

Such an amazing trip! Chiara, our tour guide and Alex our driver made the drive so relaxing. Chiara was funny and gave us a lot of interesting information and history about different areas that we drove through. Pompeii was amazing and our guide at the site was a lot of fun and knowledgeable. The Amalfi Coast and Positano were breathtaking! Food was good but very pricey! A bottle of Fanta was 6 euros. Be prepared to break your budget!! But the sites and beauty of this area is beyond words! Thank you Walks tours and Chiara and Alex!

Traveling with a small group is always more efficient. The mini-bus seats are not spacious, but maneuver through Positano with ease. Three hours to Pompeii, one to Postano, and four back to Rome (depending on traffic). Long day, but you get a good taste of Pompeii and Positano.

The tour guide in Pompeii was excellent. He was very knowledgable of the past and current research at Pompeii. Our group leader Annmarie was very entertaining and kept the tour moving at a good pace.

It was a good day for our group with excellent historical commentary from our tour leader. Hilaria was an exceptional Pompeii guide with her extensive archeology background. We would have liked another hour in Positano, even with the rain. Not enough time in Positano and the traffic was very challenging. Our driver was patient and very good in the close quarters of rhe Amalfi coast road
