Since 1953 the national Greek Dances Theatre of "Dora Stratou" is the the living museum of Greek dance and is unique, in its kind, in the world.
Dances, songs and music are presented in their original forms as were or are still performed in the respective villages or islands of Greece.
All the costumes worn by the performers are authentic museum pieces, handmade in those villages more than a century ago.
The theatre's wardrobe contains 2,000 such historical costumes from all over Greece, complete with jewelry and accessories.
Extensive field studies by a team of researchers under the direction of professor Alkis Raftis supports the fidelity of performances to the original.

Really a lovely show, with a large ensemble of dancers, musicians and regional costumes. We trekked from our hotel through dark and bumpy city neighborhoods to get there, rather than going up and down the steep hill; just use your favorite map app, or take a cab!

The show was cancelled, and an email was sent less than an hour beforehand. We didn’t receive it, so of course we went, and then could not get a cab back. The theater is a bit hard to get to, and I don’t know if we would have had as much trouble had the show actually taken place, but as it was, the experience was quite unpleasant.

Beautiful authentic costumes and dances from around Greece. The setting is lovely and the live musicians bring it all together. Loved this show!

It was a plesant experience, oudoors in a wooded area.it wasnt very crowded

Very nice dances and Music! Nice experience! About 1:30h. The Theater opens about 15min before. The seats can be a little dirty, so take a umidifed towel!

Muito bem montado o show. Bailarinos incríveis.Tudo muito coordenado. Apenas achei que deveriam ter colocado músicas mais alegres gregas. As músicas são sempre muito melancólicas.

O teatro fica ao ar livre, cadeiras simples e confortáveis, tem estacionamento amplo no local e podemos comprar bebidas na lanchonete. Gostei muito do show de dança típica da Grécia e o figurino é maravilhoso! Entretanto, achei a duração do espetáculo de 1h30 um pouco longa.
