Chichen itza itself was amazing. The tour group however, not so much. The spent the majority of the time guilt tripping and trying to peddle souvenirs to us on the bus. Cesar was constantly shaming us talking about are we tourists or travelers because tourists are awful and travelers respect the culture and buy all the things. When declining to buy a Mayan calendar for usd$25, he says " oh I guess you don't support Mayan culture". There is a stop at an "art gallery" which is just mass produced magnets, bracelets and obsidian for nuts prices. Probably the most expensive prices I've seen in travelling around Mexico for two weeks. If I was to do it again, I would rent a car and drive there myself. The tour is not cheap, and of course doesn't include entrance tickets to chichen itza but that's clear when booking. The cenote spot charges you for mandatory life jackets and lockers. It was 40C, extremely dangerous hear and the buffet doesn't include any water, despite bringing four bottles there's no choice at that point to pay $4 for each bottle. The buffet food was not good at all, you can imagine a rice pudding at 40C sitting in the heat, doesn't exactly sound appealing.

Martin and Eduardo were great tour guides. Having a real Maya person sharing his culture and his knowledge is definitely the plus of this tour. Martin does this with a lot of passione and love. I would have personally preferred spend less time to the first activity (the shaman) and maybe a bit more in the last one, the visit of the village Valladolid, where you will get a great tequila tasting. Overall the tour was great and I would recommend it.

The tour is over all very nice and really pleasant. There are multiple stops during the day: first they will bring you to a shaman that will perform a ritual and a quick stop at a local shop (I would make this stop shorter since it is not really necessary IMHO). Then they will bring you to the chichen itza archeological area where the guide will explain everything you need to know (Martin, our guide, a really mayan descent, was amazing). Then they will bring you to a nice cenote where you can cool down on a water hole and have lunch (quite tasty). Finally they will bring to the city of Valladolid where you have a bit of free time. We decided to do the tequila tasting (free) that was delicious but unfortunately took all the time so we didn't have really time to see anything else. I would extend the time at the last stop and make it quick at the beginning with the shaman. Very satisfied with this tour.

Martin the guide was fun, well prepared and extremely helpful. The tour is hectic but it definitely delivers. A pleasure to visit one of the seven wonders or the world and learn so many interesting details. The cenote is a nice addition and spices the activity with some fun and nature.

Martín the guide was super friendly and we learned so many things about Mayan civilization. Loved the Cenote experience. For warm seasons (we went in May) I recommend that you have lots of water, umbrella, hats to visit Chichen Itza as it can be very hot.
