[Let's play handmade mini shamisen! Traditional music experience workshop]
TOKYO SHAMI EXPERIENCE is a spot where you can enjoy the shamisen more easily.
It started newly last year!
In a calm place that you don't think of Shinjuku, how about an experience of concentrating on making and playing Japanese musical instruments?
It is an experience that foreigners also come, so depending on the timing, it may be an opportunity to have international exchange.
This is an experience for beginners for the first time with the shamisen.
■ Contents ■
1) Put on your coat and get excited. I feel like I feel Japan.
2) Next, let's enjoy a brief explanation of the shamisen. (Easy history and features)
3) We will finally assemble with a mini shamisen kit for beginners. After seeing a sample such as thread tension, I will try it myself. (It is not difficult because even elementary school students have experience assembling) It will be completed in about 20 minutes.
4) Let's make a sound with the shamisen you made! Learn how to read music.
5) Practice the song together. (The score of the shamisen is very simple, and the mini-shamisen has numbers on it, so you can tell where to hold just by looking at it.)
6) Everyone will play together.
7) Take a break. Listen to live shamisen performances along with tea confectionery.
8) It ends when it gets excited. Please bring home the handmade mini shamisen.
Bring back the practiced music and enjoy it after returning home. Show off your shamisen to your family and friends!

This is truly an excellent, one of a kind, experience. It’s beginner friendly, and the teacher is kind, patient, and passionate about music. As well as helping you make a shamisen to keep, the teacher explains a lot about the history of the shamisen as well as modern-day shamisen playing. You’re in for a lovely tea ceremony and live performance as well. This experience is near the Takahatafudō station, which is very close to the beautiful Tama Hills. So you can combine this with some site seeing to make for a truly unforgettable afternoon in Japan.
