Our ferry boat operates from the Fort De Soto Bay Pier daily. The ferry ride to the island is about 45-60 minutes and offers great chances to spot dolphins, sea turtles, and sometimes even manatees! We often spot sea birds on the ride to and from Egmont Key Island aboard the Hubbard’s Ferry, our big blue boat.

I love the simplicity of the island. Spent the day enjoying nature and exploring with my seven year old grandson. Had a picnic at the beach and went swimming in the beautiful turqoise water. Captain Robin and Raelynn made the boat trip so much fun by taking us close to manatees and dolphins. Perfect day!

Trip was great and enjoyable! Staff (Robyn and Braylon) was friendly and knowledgeable about history, area, and wildlife. Was my second Egmont Key Adventure and will do sunset cruise in a day!! This is a must if you tired of overcrowded beaches, want a boat cruise or enjoy history.

My wife, two kids, and I took the Egmont Key Ferry to Egmont Key. The cruise was fun and quick with beautiful views. Captain and co-captain are very knowledgeable about the area and sea creatures that are native to the area (dolphins, manatees, etc. along with pelicans and storks). The island is beautiful and historic. Walking along the brick road was cool to experience but it does not lead to the Ft. Dade ruins, I believe you need to take the sand path that breaks off from the brick road a bit after the beginning. Gulf Beach is littered with all sorts of shells, not to mention the amazing water. Our kids brought home countless shells, it was fun searching. Tortoises were present though few were found during our visit. Bring food, water, sunscreen, and beach gear! Our captains went out of their to see Dolphins and a manatee, which was greatly appreciated. This trip is a must-do!

Top tier equipment and a very knowledgeable and capable crew. Robin's review of the history of the Key went back to the first inhabitants, not just the Spanish and the English. The Captain provided a smooth, enjoyable ride each way, and he was very good at finding a lot of Dolphins. We saw it all; Gopher Tortoises stolling the Key, Manatees swimming right passed us while beached, Blue Herons out for a walk along the shoreline, and plenty of Dolphins. As we camp at Ft. De Soto once a month, we will be taking this excursions regularly in the future. It's also treat to deal with a local family business that's so much a part of the area's history.

Amazing time. Watched big ships in the channel heading in and out of Tampa. Saw gopher turtles and dolphins, and Osprey. Fort ruins were very interesting. A natural environment, beautiful beach and sea..

Going on an early ferry beat the crowds and made walking the beach very enjoyable. 3 hours was more than enough time to explore the island. Be sure to take a picture of a map of the island before you go. No brochures available.

We checked in at the booth and Phillip was very informative about the island and where we would leave from, return to, how to see things from the pier before leaving. We took the ferry over to the island, Captain Zip was very informative on the ride over about what to expect, where to go, how long the walk was and what we might see - turtles, dolphins, sea shells and more. The island was everything they said and more- beautiful, filled with shells, beautiful clear water, very few people and snorkeling was great! Returning, Captain Zip and First Mate Robin were telling us we might see dolphins or manatee or even eagles or maybe eagle rays! We saw all of that- and we learned so much about each animal. A wonderful time, one I would say is not to be missed - and Monday and Tuesday are the slowest days, so go then!!

The trip was even better than expected. Easy on and off the boat for us two 70-year-olds. Dippy & Noah gave us all a quick history lesson and tips on the best way to enjoy our 3 hours on the key. They went out of their way to get us with in photo range of two dolphin pods. They pointed out a ray that was jumping out of the water. Listening to the Grateful Dead & Goose on the ride back just made our afternoon perfect.
