Pass By: Eidfjord Municipality, Eidfjord Municipality, Hardanger, Hordaland, Western Norway

After a convenient pickup, we will kickstart our adventure by taking the winding roads of Måbødalen, where each turn reveals a breathtaking view. This route is known as one of Norway's renowned 18 scenic roads! As we ascend, your guide will share captivating stories, all the while you see the landscape transform before your eyes. The higher we climb, the rockier the terrain becomes, with fewer trees and a more rugged ambiance, eventually leading us to the largest high-altitude plateau in Northern Europe.

Stop At: Fossli Hotel, Unnamed Road, 5783, 5783 Eidfjord, Norway

This hotel still has the same atmosphere as when it was built in 1891. It was a popular destination frequently visited by the renowned Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg.

Today, it remains a favored spot, offering you the chance to immerse yourself in the present ambiance, enjoy a coffee and pie, and explore the souvenir shop.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Voringfossen, Maurset 5785 Norway

No rush, you'll have ample time to enjoy Vøringfossen your way. Perfect for explorers, hikers, and those who prefer a more easy going pace.

You'll be able to choose a trail with some rugged sections and cross a walking bridge over the gorge.

For a relaxed experience, head to the spacious viewing platform that offers an unobstructed view and excellent photo opportunities.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Sysendammen, Maurset 5785 Norway

A short walk on the dam offers an interesting experience, as it is fascinating to see the deep valley on one side and the high water from the lake on the other. Depending on the weather, it may also be possible to spot the second-largest glacier in Norway from the dam.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Hardangervidda National Park, Uvdal 3630 Norway

Discover the beauty of Hardangervidda, Norway’s largest National Park. Above the tree line, you’ll find yourself surrounded by vast moorlands and calm lakes that stretch across the horizon. In this untouched realm, the only hint of human presence is the winding road that crosses the landscape.

I appreciate the the boat is modern and convenient. but the narration is lacking and far in between. You were made to ride for more than one hour going and another one hour plus coming back -- spending maybe 5 minutes staring at the puplit -- with no one even telling us where the pulpit is. It was so impersonal! Waste of time! The staff even refused for us to use the toilet of the boat when our boarding was to happen in the next 10 minutes! Really??!!?!

The path to the waterfall was closed and covered with snow and ice, so we never saw them. Bathrooms were closed at all stops and the toilet on the bus was out of order. Total waste of money.

Our tour guide, Bas, is very professional, knowledgable, dedicated, and have a great sense of humor. He doesnt not only cover the topics of the sites for the tour but also explain and answer the questions on local cabin, electric car, hydro power, etc. For each of the three sights where we stopped during the excursion, he always provides different options for people who want to be more challenging and who want to be more relaxing.Denny who is helping Bas is very responsible and caring. The excursion is definitely for those who love the nature and wilderness. The highlight is the Voringfossen waterfall. The waterfall itself is just dramatic and nature wonder.

We hebben een uitstekende trip gehad met reisleider Bas, in NL en Engels. Bas weet erg veel van de omgeving en Noorwegen in het algemeen, en is een aangename verteller. Dank!

Super organisierte Tour.
