Stop At: Eiffel Tower, 5 Avenue, 75007 Paris France

Get your steps in to the second floor before taking the elevator to the summit for epic Paris views

After meeting your guide near the Eiffel Tower, you’ll head for the ticketing desk and pass through the security area to begin your climb. Your first stop is the first floor (of course!), where the crowds are usually smaller and you can enjoy a unique perspective of the Paris skyline, and walk on the 188-foot-high glass floor. Next, you’ll continue your climb to the popular second floor for an even higher viewpoint. Along the way your guide will inform and entertain with stories of the city’s history and the tower’s construction.

The cherry on top is a trip to the Eiffel Tower summit, where you’ll have an unmatched view of the city from a staggering 906 feet (276 meters)! You’ll be given access to the summit elevator for this final part of the tour, and you’re free to stay at the top for as long as you please.

Hisham my tour guide today is very friendly and fun to do this tour with. He went great length to explain about the city and gave me recommendations on how to explore well in Paris on my own. He even wrote down list of places I could check out for pastries and hot chocolate because he found out I am a patissiere!! Thank you Hisham!!!

A wonderful visit to the Eiffel Tower, made great with our guide Rawda who had all the info and background you want to get at this experience, and perfect energy from the climb and a lot of interesting facts for us to take in. Everything ran smooth, from entry to finish. Had guidance from ground level to second level which was perfect. The summit experience was also great, and ran super smooth. Would happily return on the tour again!

Had Marsha as a guide-very informative and kept us moving through the tour. The steps to the top were daunting, but the views were worth it.

Note, the Eiffel Tower was lovely - spectacular, actually - and the family really enjoyed it. 4-5 stars for the attraction. But this review is about the "tour" and the "Summit Access" tickets we bought with The Tour Guy, purchased through Headout. First, our tour guide did a fine job, such as it was... this was not his fault, but the "tour" consisted of the crowd of us standing a hot noisy room on the first level while our guide went through a bunch of info that is readily available anywhere on the internet. He made an effort. And he was polite, prepared, and professional. 3-4 stars for the tour guide. But the tour itself was especially boring for the kids (3 and 13). 1 star. However, my main dissatisfaction is with Headout and The Tour Guy about what we thought we were paying for vs what we got, as follows: 1. DOES NOT SKIP THE LINE. I missed the opportunity to purchase advanced tickets from the main Eiffel Tower website (limited availability that sells out right away) so I purchased these tickets through Headout primarily to skip the line and to ensure summit access (to make the most of our short trip to Paris). Little did I know that these tickets included none of that: we waited in all the same lines as everyone else who just walked up (security, tickets, entry) and the tour guide bought the tickets on the spot after we all waited in line. We literally could have done the exact same thing by ourselves, but without needing to find the meeting spot and be there at a particular time, not to mention saving us 45 minutes and $100. 2. DOES NOT GUARANTEE SUMMIT ACCESS. The summit access was part of the price of the tickets I paid for, but since the tour guide purchased the tickets on the spot, and the summit happened to be busy and therefore tickets were temporarily unavailable due to volume, we did not get summit access. If we had been a half an hour later or earlier, we might have got access, but the tour guide did not know whether it would be open until we arrived, and there was nothing he could do about it. (To be clear: when we came down after the "tour" the summit was open, and we could have gone up, but we were out of time by then. If we had not done the tour and had just waited, we could have done the summit.) My kids really wanted to go to the summit, which is why I bought these "tour" tickets - we could have saved $100 and just bought the tickets ourselves. And if we had just waited a little while, or come a little earlier, we very likely would have got the summit access too. 3. DID NOT GIVE REFUND. According to the tour guide, since we did not get the summit access for which we prepaid, we were supposed to receive a refund within 5 business days automatically, with no action required on our part. But this has not happened (this was a month ago). Now I have to go track down the refund that was supposed to have happened for something I didn't need to pay for in the first place. Yay. In summary - definitely go to the Eiffel Tower, and wait for the summit if you like, but do not waste your time or money on a tour from The Tour Guy or Headout. Bon Voyage!
