We rented e-bikes to tour Normandy area and beaches, and wow I couldn’t recommend locvelo Bayeux more! The gentleman there was so incredibly helpful, he went out of his way to give us a great experience. If you want to explore the area, there is no better way than to go rent these bikes. Exceptional service. Thank you!!

We made a tour to Omaha beach with our three kids aged 12-17. The stuff was very kind and helpful. We got explained everything we needed when renting the bicycles. They showed us which route they recommend us to take on the way there and on the way back. It was not difficult to follow the route. We were passing a natural park with bird observations quite early after the start, where we had to walk with the bikes as cycling is not permitted here. This was not a long distance, so not any problem with that. The whole tour took us about 8 hours with stopping as we wanted, with lunch at the Omaha beach memorial and visiting of the Overlord museum. The bikes were nice and clean and looked like new. Cycling was very comfortable with different regimes of using the battery. Easy to operate for the kids too. It was a really windy day, however having an electric bike made it non- problematic, though sometimes uncomfortable in the strong wind gusts. We had an active day spent outside that will be remembered by the whole family. Thank you for this experience!

We booked 2 electric bikes the night prior, both were waiting for us at 9am, fully charged, clean, with our names on them ready to go. Staff were very helpful with explaining the various features of the bikes and directions for getting about the town and beyond. Highly recommend if you want to get out of town for a few hours but don't have a car.

The team at LocVelo were extremely helpful and friendly. Bicycle was set up and ready before I arrived. I had a great day touring Gold and Juno beach areas by bike to better experience the French countryside. I would definitely rent again from LocVelo on a return trip.

Justin responded to my enquiry promptly & was great to deal with. He has a great sense of humour & nothing was a problem. The way the trip navigator is set up on your phone is excellent - ‘quite simple to follow & the route uses quiet back roads & dedicated cycle ways when possible. There was a pleasing mix of country lanes, open fields, fascinating beaches & amazing views. Justin & his team have obviously put a lot of thought into making this a high quality cycling / sightseeing experience. The bike they provided for me was a tourer. It was comfortable & performed well. I highly recommend Loc Velo & would use them again. Value for money, they are excellent

Easy to rent e-bike, was able to walk in and get a bike. We did the mulberry excursion. Highly recommend , it’s a mixture of the countryside of Normandy, costal cliffs and small towns in between.

We hired the bikes for a month and rode 2000km. Didn’t have any problems at all. On arrival, we noted that the bikes had been fully serviced with some new components, in prep for the long trip. We had requested higher capacity batteries than the standard rental and these were already fitted on the bikes. During the ride the batteries proved to have a range of at least 100km. Jean-Baptiste and his team were helpful throughout, with advice on our route during the planning stage and were adaptable to the way the deposit and balance was paid from overseas, before we arrived. They were also super helpful with storing our non cycling luggage during the trip.

Bottom line up front: This was the best of multiple tours that I participated in during a 2-week excursion to Normandy, Bordeaux, and Paris. I highly recommend this tour organization for touring Normandy from Bayeux. I rented an e-bike from LocVelo in Bayeux, along with touring direction package to visit the Normandy coast, leaving from Bayeux, a distance of about 40 km. The tour directions required me to download a GPS-driven tour application for routing. The tour directions were excellent, generally keeping you to little-used farm roads and byways, especially on the outbound legs, which frankly are safer and more scenic as well. This was especially important to me since I was traveling by myself, and well aware that some routes are not compatible with bike traffic. The route scenery was outstanding and using an e-bike made getting access to most places easier than using a car. The route of the return to Bayeux were more direct using bike route and bike paths, which I very much appreciated since I needed to catch a train immediately afterwards. The time estimation for the tour (3.5 hours) was also pretty much spot-on, allowing me to dawdle and take lots of pictures during the tour. Since the duration of the tour would probably have exhausted my cell battery, the LocVelo bike package included a cell battery unit and a weather-proof bag for putting the cell phone and the battery in. The e-bike was a Bosch unit, very solid with a rear rack, and it had several battery-powered assist levels (eco to sport). It was my first experience with an e-bike and the staff was very helpful in explaining the controls and capabilities. They even provided a panier bag on the bike rack so that I didn't have a balance issue riding along with my backpack. The bike operated flawlessly throughout my ~40 km trip, and still had 1/2 battery power left at the end. It goes without saying that you need to dress for the anticipated weather. I rode on the first real day of fall, with temps of 12° - 18°C, and mist/drizzle for 1/3 of the trip. The bike had a nice set of fenders to minimize the spray from puddles and rain, I was prepared with a solid rain jacket and synthetic trousers. The combination of an excellent phone application that worked very well, a solid e-bike that was flawless, a carefully curated tour that showed me an enchanting and safe route thru Normandy, and an enthusiastic and competent staff that answered all of my questions and provided a superlative package all made this tour the best one of more than a dozen that I undertook during my 2 weeks in France. The folks at LocVelo are highly recommended.

The service here was top notch. The bikes were in great shape and the staff gave us great tips and a super bike friendly route. All in all from booking to finish, great service. We did the ride to Omaha beach which wound through villages, farm fields and gorgeous views of the ocean. Plus we spent 3 hours at the American cemetery
