A fantastic tour! We were searching for something special to do to celebrate my wife's birthday, so we booked the Elephant/Monkey Sanctuary Tour. And folks, we found it here! The experience was UNFORGETTABLE!! We not only got to view the elephants and monkeys. We got to interact with them by feeding them and walking with them. We were even allowed to touch the elephants. Priceless!
Anton was our guide, and he was phenomenal! His knowledge and passion for Johannesburg and the surrounding areas heightened our experience beyond our expectations. He enlightened us with historical and cultural information and was happy to answer all of our questions. He even assisted us in finding great lunch venues and African markets. He also recommended other things to do/ see during the tour. Because Anton was such an excellent guide, we ended up booking the Johannesburg/Soweto tour to complete our stay: definitely, a must before you leave SA!

Excellent tour from start to finish. The sanctuary was amazing, lots to see and do and very informative. The staff there were really helpful and very friendly. They were knowledgeable about all the animals and made sure the interactions were safe but exciting. Our transport was provided by Anton and he was also excellent and informative on all of South Africa. He took great care to make sure we had hats, water sunscreen and gave us lots of tips for the rest of our holiday. Thank you for a wonderful day it far exceeded our expectations.

Do yourself a favor and book this tour immediately! My daughter and I were thrilled with every part of this experience that is a must. Norman was a fantastic guide, had knowledge on every topic imaginable and found a lovely spot for lunch - he is perfection! FYI - do make sure to take the tour operator’s advice on add ons and go to the Monkey sanctuary first thing. It is a magical experience.

This is a beautiful facility. The guide did an excellent job of presenting African elephants habitat and lifestyle. The handlers also did an excellent job and appear to truly care for the animals

We were picked up early in the morning at our hotel by a wonderful guide, Norman. The trip was extremely pleasant, Norman is a wealth of knowledge! He went out of his way to make sure we got the most out of our visit, even treating us to an extra visit with the Meerkats, one of my favorite animals! He even stopped off at a grocery store for us on the way back to our hotel!
We learned a lot about South Africa from Norman and visiting the sanctuary was a dream come true for me. There really are no words to describe the feeling that overcame me upon interacting with the elephants. I was so thrilled to see these majestic creatures being so cared for, knowing they had been rescued.
It was also so heart-warming to see monkeys who had been kept as pets and working animals having the chance to live almost normal lives in a natural environment.
It is true that Africa gets in your blood and I hope to go back some day.

From the initial email communication to the guided day trip Mmilo Tours exceeded all my expectations. The response time was quick and Norman our Guide was friendly, personable and very knowledgable about the area. We had a private car pick up at our hotel (3 ladies who where on a mission trip), comfortable drive to the Elephant Sanctuary where Norman helped us locate our guide and then waited while we had our two hour tour...which I would highly recommend, then we went to a local market, small lion cub experience and then lastly lunch at a safari park. All of these suggestions where from Norman after he heard our desires!!!! Amazing Day!!

Great day and Norman the driver was very knowledgeable and gave us a great history of south Africa. The elephant sanctuary was exciting and explained many aspects of the elephants and how they live. We paid extra for the ride on the elephant and it is short but fun. You may get a little dirty during the course of the day since you are touching the elephants but there is always a tap or hose nearby for hand washing. Getting so close to touch and feed the elephants was great. There is a little store there to buy souvenirs or drinks. Don't forget to see the meercats to the right before entering. It is free and they are cute to watch! The tour was on time and everything was explained in the description.

This was a visit that we will never forget and being so close to these beautiful animals even if the kiss was a bit snotty.
