Itinerary
Waddle into the fascinating world of our most endangered primates, off the beaten track and away from the tourist traps. In an easy, 3 hour-stroll, across twisting mountain road, scenic terrain, we will go into secret spaces that only the Red-Shanked Douc Langurs aka Rare Monkeys know.
From encountering sprightly off-springs during breeding-season (March to July) to seeing the adults or alpha male, or just to enjoy the sight of monkeys being monkeys, you’ll learn how to tell a "she" from a "he", how to tell their age, and also participate in real-time research by helping to collect data about the monkey we encounter. We will meet a supporting cast of forest creatures; birds, colorful butterflies, plants, or sometimes mongoose.
On the trail we travel, I'll find chances to have a conversation with local animal photographers. We can hear the insights and see their amazing photos from them for a better understand of the monkey .
Not only we go finding rare animals but also have opportunity to see an amazing hidden sceneries of Monkey Mountain, secret beach, altogether will combine to make our trip full of surprises.

We spent the afternoon with Bao and Hai looking for red shanked douc langurs in Son Trà and we had the best time!! Bao and Hai picked us up at the hotel und provided drinks and snacks. Loved the nature, the views, the story’s and information both of them provided. Oh and of course the monkeys! - luckily, we saw so many! Felt like we went on an adventure - cruising and chit chatting with friends. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience and thanks Hai for the pictures and videos, truly memories to keep forever <3

My excursion to monkey mountain with my guide Hai was one of the most impressive tours during my trip to Vietnam. The red-shanked douc is one of the most impressive primate species that I have been able to observe in its natural habitat. It was essential to have a local guide like Hai with me who is familiar with the monkeys and could therefore explain a lot about the habits of the red-shanked douc. I can highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in wildlife.

Just wanted to share my incredible experience on this tour with Hadar. It was absolutely amazing! Took us a bit to find the monkeys, but Hadar's knowledge and dedication really paid off. And let me tell you, seeing those monkeys during the sunset time — breathtaking! I highly recommend it, especially during sunset (so best time to start the journey is around 3pm). Hadar truly made it an unforgettable adventure! Very recommended 🙏🏼❤️

Great tour!!! My guide Kien was a great guide. He was knowledgeable about Da Nang as well as the Langurs! We got to stop at various sections to view the Langurs. We were lucky on our trip and probably saw a total of 18 - 22 Langurs at 4 or 5 different stops. They gave us binoculars which really helped see the Langurs even clearer. We got to also witness a beautiful sunset! Kien was fun, a safe and good bike rider and would definitely recommend you personally requesting him if you decide to try out this tour! Would highly recommend the tour if you’re spending at least a few days or more in Da Nang.

This was a phenomenal tour, and exceeded my expectations! First, the communication from the company was really great leading up to the tour. Second, our guides were amazing! While everyone was nice, if you have Kien and Hai as your guides, I’d say you’re very lucky 🙂 They provided an outstanding customer experience. Both of them are kind, personable, and attentive young men. They are very knowledgeable about the langurs, so you will learn a lot of great information. They also do everything to ensure you’re comfortable, and make an effort to take photos of you. They took an interest in getting to know us, and sharing information about themselves as well. We found that to be very special. Lastly, in addition to seeing many langurs, the tour involves some beautiful viewpoints. If the weather allows, you’ll also catch a beautiful sunset. It was overall a very nice experience that we would recommend you anyone visiting Da Nang!

This was our highlight in Da Nang. You get to ride on a motorcycle through the beautiful biodiverse forest of Da Nang, giving you a break from the chaotic city life. We really enjoyed enjoyed the sounds of the jungle. We weren't expecting to see any red shanked doucs but we were lucky (gotta give credit to our guides' skills too) and saw over a dozen of them. Even if you don't see them you get to see some macaques, birds, beautiful trees and plants, multiple viewpoints of the city and the sea up top. Drivers were super friendly, really nice, patient and knowledgeable. Really worth the time if you like nature and colorful monkeys.

What an amazing tour! We enjoyed every bit of it - the landscape, the sunset and of course the Red Shanked Douc Langurs! Our guides Bao & Binh have been very knowledgeable about the area & the monkeys. They shared interesting info about the behavior of the Langurs & knew exactly where & when to spot them! We got to see plenty of Langurs along the tour! Highly recommended! (picutres below only of landscape)

Really nice afternoon with Huy. Very knowledgeable and respecting the environment. You get to see the monkeys in their natural habitat in a very quite part of the hill. We saw 3 different families along the way. This was the highlight of my stay in Da Nang! If you are in Da Nang, you shouldn't miss it!

We absolutely loved the trip. We appreciate the info they gave us, and the well scheduled plan they had made for us. We felt safe on the morltorbikes and we loved the path on the mountain. Honestly it would be a great road trip even if we hadn't see the langurs. But we felt really lucky seeing them so close. Appreciate the treats as well. Mostly the friendly but also professional attitude adds to the whole experience. The floating village the pagoda and the parachuting point are good spots ( we think it's important that they shared some insight about the history and religion as well.) but the highlight for us was searching for the langurs. Thank you again🧡
